Many airlines are making efforts to be more inclusive. For example, earlier this year we saw airlines for the first time add a non-binary gender option when booking travel, including the option to select “X” as your gender (rather than “M” or “F”).
Air Canada is largely a progressive airline, and La Presse reports on an internal memo that has been sent to employees. Currently Air Canada’s flight attendants, gate agents, and pilots, refer to passengers as “ladies and gentlemen” when making announcements, but they’ll soon be updating their phrasing to be more gender neutral.

There’s a restaurant in Silver Spring, MD where they sing, “Happy Birthday, Dear Customer” to the patrons. That covers it all.
Having said that, I think this is about the silliest thing ever.
Last time I flew was 1996 for my Dad’s funeral.
Have no plans to ever fly again. I much prefer driving, a chance to admire our beautiful country.

I find that sentence offensive as I self-identify as a silicon-based life form.

“controls” does not just apply to the pilot, it applies to management of the company as well

What about those of us who are offended by the idea that our sacred God-given sexual identity is not recognized, and now a thing to be treated with contempt and/or indifference.
You should have been specific. You implied that the people flying the planes were responsible.

We were recently at Niagara falls. For decades the little boats the took you up to edge of the falls were named “Maid of the Mist”. On the Canadian side they have renamed them to the “the hornblower”. I’m betting it was some BS PC crap that caused the name change. There is a reason Canada is the worst under achieving nation in the world.
They are very progressive—especially the propeller plane that flies from Bradley Field (CT) to Toronto—the plane is so small they can’t fit all the luggage in the cargo hold—so they send it on later flights.
Customers have been complaining about the luggage issues for ten years and Air Canada _still_ flies those crappy planes to and from Toronto.
Yup, very progressive... :-(

Intentionally broad to make folks think a little. It is more than a pilot that has influence over a plane.
Might I suggest the simple yet inclusive “Comrades”?
Instead they will say “everyone.”
