Why should Dallas have all the fun?
Calling the police (for anything) almost never makes a situation get better.
Round 2 Amber Guyger. Please let this be fake news.
I'll be curious to compare this male cop's future prison sentence to Amber Guyger's.
Successful police operation.
1. They responded to the correct address reported by the caller for the welfare check.
2. The police have eliminated any questions whatsoever about the state of the woman’s welfare.
Horrible.
The policeman didn’t see any weapon, because there was no weapon.
The poor woman was inside her own home.
Oh boy. There’s gonna be trouble in them parts.
That cop shot one of fellow Americans. Not cool.
Unfortunately, it looks pretty real. The victim looked to be a good person as well.
If people are worried about gun violence...they need to start looking at the police departments. In all seriousness, the trend needs to move back towards police being “Peace Officers” and get rid of all their tactical gear.
Watched it.. It was another shoot first sort it out later event.
I live in a far different kind of area but this is one reason I would be very hesitant to call the police to check on the welfare of a neighbor.
Was she eating icecream?
Why didn’t the police simply go to the front door and ring the door bell? Guilty of murder.
They can always refuse to check. They can insist the caller be there. They’re being dumped on.
I agree. This is horrible. The police are increasingly embracing a defensive, adversarial mindset of "us vs. them" where everyone not wearing blue is the enemy.
Why didnt the police simply go to the front door and ring the door bell? Guilty of murder.
Why didn’t the neighbor, who called the police, and knew the woman try to call her on the phone?
...saw a person standing inside the home near a window. Perceiving a threat, the officer drew his duty weapon and fired one shot striking the person inside the residence, the statement said.
Just wow. Thats the kind of behavior you would expect of an infantryman trying to neutralize a house occupied by enemy soldiers.
I would expect even a soldier to practice better target ID than this before letting loose.
