Anything worth doing is worth doing right, or so Hunter S. Thompson would say. Clearly Nancy Pelosi is not a fan of the late gonzo journalist. If she were to adopt that simple belief, perhaps the country could move on from the most recent and ridiculous manufactured impeachment crisis. If Nancy Pelosi were interested in doing things the right way, she would hold a vote on the House floor to open an impeachment inquiry. A vote that was held for the Clinton impeachment inquiry, a vote that was held for the Nixon impeachment inquiry, but a vote that Pelosi refuses to hold today.
She cannot hold the vote because it would endanger her more moderate members by having them voice their support for overturning an election on partisan grounds. She cannot hold the vote because she would then be compelled to give both parties, not just her own, subpoena power and access to witnesses. She cannot hold the vote because she cannot afford to allow the American people to see, in open hearings, the spurious claims upon which the impeachment fantasy is based. She cannot make a move without damaging her and her party’s position. Zugzwang would be the term in chess.
Currently we have a non-impeachment, impeachment inquiry because Speaker Pelosi will not take the simple step of holding an impeachment vote on the House floor. This week, the White House correctly asserted that they view any impeachment inquiry, absent a full House vote, as partisan and illegitimate. The White House rightfully believes that, like previous impeachment inquiries, both parties should have the power to subpoena witnesses and the ability to cross-examine them. Pecker puss Pelosi is running impeachment like a college campus Title IX sex case. The accuser must be be believed and the accused cannot defend himself. Calling the process a kangaroo court was being kind.

The moment they hold a vote the issue goes to the Senate which will quickly and uncerimoniously quash this political BS. Or, worse for the leftists...the Senate might actually dig in and investigate as part of their trial. This would no-doubt expose the true nature of the "impeachment" (aka political witch-hunt) for what it really is. Although it seems it should be obvious to everyone, even the casual political observer, exactly what this is all about.
Pelosi must go through with impeachment as the whacked-out Leftist base won't stand for it if she doesn't ... they need something! ... anything!!
So what's a tired, old Speaker to do? Because the Democrat/Left Party just cannot simply drop impeachment as it will give President Trump a huge victory and send the whacked-out base completely over the edge, I'm thinking some sort of "censure" is the likely outcome ... but (and it's a Moochell-type "big but"), although the Democrat/Left elite may welcome this type of maneuver to escape the corner they've painted themselves into, the whacked-out base won't buy it or accept it. Should be a "hoot"!

If there was a vote, then the Republicans would have subpoena power. Then they would call her son , Paul Pelosi to testify. Paul Pelosi, like Hunter Boden had no oil, gas or energy experience but was appointed to a highly paid board position at a Ukraine energy company. Watching him repeatedly take the 5th would be an eye opening spectacle for the American people.
Pelosi is smarter than the avg Dim and she knows this is a bad road to go down. She is doing this to appease the wildly radical left while trying to maintain trust of the moderates.
