I have one word for BoJo: INSTEX.

And why I’m at it, Biris, what about that money the UK just gave the mullahs, laundered so the UK could get around sanctions.

Well, it does concern us since Turkey is a member of NATO.

NATO membership, however, does not confer immunity from prosecution for genocide.

We have better ways of dealing with Turkey.

And we’ll get to NATO, since they’re in this up to their collective armpits.

Oh, Boris...

UK dodged sanctions to settle with Iranian Bank Mellat

It's behind a paywall, but the first four paragraphs say it all.

“The Kurds were playing along on this long-term strategy of breaking up Syria, and probably Iraq. That never was going to be the US position.”

Your point reveals the root of the Kurdish tragedy and the real failure of American foreign policy in Iraq that pre-dated Trump’s term in office. When Dubya the idiot followed the misbegotten advice of his NWO neo-con RINO cronies and failed to break up Iraq into separate states, one of which would have been a Kurdish homeland, he set up the US, the Kurds, and the Middle East region for this on-going disaster of Kurds fighting Iraqis, Kurds fighting Syrians, and Kurds fighting Turks trying to secure their survival. Now, about the only thing we can do is continue to provide arms to the Kurds to continue their fight. It’s up to the other players in the region, like the Saudis, the Israelis, and NATO itself to take up this problem.

I find it highly improbable that the SAS/SBS isn’t already operating in Syria.

Turkey is part of NATO, isn’t it?

Where is the EU on this? Where is NATO? The UN?

Probably correct in your thoughts. That said what the 50 guys brought to the party was air support.

Let the Brits and the EU shoulder the burden. Why aren’t they taking back their own citizens, ISIS fighters and their families?

If the deal with the US has changed, and in exchange for being the world’s policeman, we also get the wrong end of every stick, then we need to start living by the new deal.

That is the entire basis of the Trump Administration.

I remember after Iraq, the Iraqis handed the best contracts to European companies and there was a brief WTF moment while we all wondered why we went to the trouble only to get stiffed.

In the past, we’d have just shrugged and said, “Oh well.”

Trump is the first President in 100 years that understands that war isn’t diplomatic, it is economic.

Turkey violated its security agreement with both the US and the Kurds, and it only took 48 hours.

In the end, if there really is a UN worth having, it is their job to deal with the Turks and Kurds. Turkey, if I recall, is in NATO.

So now you’ve got to ask what good NATO is either. Johnson is pissed about us pulling out, he can put his troops in. The UK is in NATO too.

We have withheld our contribution to the UN. The UN is about to run out of money. That’s not a coincidence.

And what are the Brits and the other countries in Europe doing to stop Turkey?

Trump has been pressuring the European NATO allies to increase the amount of money to support NATO operations.

Europe needs to quit complaining and do something.

Britain already has forces deployed in Syria and slightly exceeds the mandated 2% of gdp on defence but as a mid ranking power there is only so much we can do. Turkey is a renegade that should be thrown out of NATO.

Well Boris, you’re the PM. Just send British troops in to take the place of American troops if you feel so strongly about it.

Pretty sure the SAS will be fighting, not that they would admit to because the government probably sends them to places they don’t want to publically admit they are in.

Lol

The fact they are prevented from doing so by Parliament and the fact there is no evidence they are fighting is evidence they are fighting?

As soon as US pulls 2k troops, the UK-France alliance can’t hold back a Turkish invasion.
