The Presidents decision to abandon our Kurd allies in the face of an assault by Turkey is a betrayal. It says that America is an unreliable ally; it facilitates ISIS resurgence; and it presages another humanitarian disaster, Romney, a frequent Trump critic, wrote on Twitter.

I was outraged when Bush 1 after we had beaten Saddam then allowed him to use helicopters to destroy the marsh Arabs and the Kurds. Kusay really know how to kill Kurds for his daddy, poison gas and everything. It’s a wonder the Kurds have any dealings with us at all. Also, they are keeping about 10,000 ISIS males in prison and there are also about 100,000 women, old men, and children of theirs hanging around. The first thing that will happen if Turkey crosses the border is a whole lot of Kurdish troops and guards will head for the border and release/escape of those 10,000 ISIS fighters and their families would start the whole mess all over again.
If what you say about Romney and Ukraine is true, I am surprised that Trump isn’t asking for help on than by the Ukraine.
In my comment #81 I point out the risk of allowing Turkey to invade northern Syria. If the Kurds are busy fighting the Turks, how are they going to keep 10,000 ISIS prisoners plus their families under control. Then we are back in the same mess as before.
According to reports we only have about 70 Special Forces advisors in Syria with the Kurds.
