RFRA Debacle?
Religious Freedom Rights Act. Indiana law. It was a hot mess. Most of the mess can be laid at Pence’s feet. Tore this state apart politically. Was handled terribly.
Religious Freedom Restoration Act - it was a law that strengthened religious liberties - EG you couldn’t be sued if you didn’t want to bake a gay wedding cake.
Pence proudly signed the law that the GOP in Indiana wrote up and passed and the gay lobby pounced and attacked full-on in the state.
Rather than defend the law and argue why it was needed Pence capitulated which led to even more blood letting and now the GOP won’t touch religious issues at all here and happily supports the gay lobby.
