A New York Times reporter fact-checked House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) on Twitter after McCarthy claimed an article reported that House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) orchestrated with the whistleblower at the center of a scandal involving President Trump.
Chairman Adam Schiff just got caught orchestrating with the whistleblower before the complaint was ever filed. Democrats have rigged this process from the start, McCarthy tweeted Wednesday, linking to an article co-authored by reporter Matthew Rosenberg.
Nope. Not what the NYT reported. The whistleblower went to an intel committee staffer with a vague account of the complaint, and was told to file through proper channels, Rosenberg tweeted in response.
Schiff personally never knew the whistleblowers identity. Thats hardly orchestrating the complaint, he added.
Trump and his allies have seized on the Times article, which also says the aide in question told the whistleblower to hire a lawyer and file a complaint through formal channels. Thats what theyre supposed to do, Schiff said in a tweet.
SNIP
The denial here is Schiff never personally knew the identity of the whistleblower.
If Schiff didn't personally meet with the whistleblower did he communicate via phone, email, text, etc? Did they communicate incognito?
Who changed the rules to permit “hearsay”?
NYT.....fact check.....snort...guffaw..
L
Isn’t it amazing how the media will rush to defend a Democrat, “without evidence” for any of their shady dealings
The worst of this is that Trump cannot face his accuser, who is allowed to be secret so his defense cannot properly assess whether he has strengths and weaknesses, vulnerabilities, biases and connections (gave to Hillary campaign, furious and wants revenge against Trump for something 10 years ago, his brother worked for Schiff, etc.)
This
is
a
crime.
If he didn't know the identity, or didn't orchestrate this, how was he able to fill in the gaps for his infamous "parody"? Did he just pull it out of his ass?
Of all the thousands of people in Washington, the so-called 'Whistleblower' "went to an intel committee staffer"....???? - now, why would that be?
Works great.
Chain of Command...plain and simple. They violated it by going outside whatever agency they work for. Severe enough of a violation that deserves serious discipline.
Hearsay accuser at best. Had no first hand knowledge. Just spewing crap probably talked about over a drink in a bar. None of it would be allowed as evidence in a court of law, so why is it being allowed in the halls of the Federal Government?
The whole thing stinks. I can’t believe the Repubs are nit hollering now!!!!
No one believes this. Schiff Knew. No doubt about it
“The whistleblower went to an intel committee staffer with a vague account of the complaint,”
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
IOW, he first went to Congress with the complaint. Does that remove his whistleblower protection?
well the nytimes knows the whistle blowers identity and background how did that happen and when?
‘We decided to publish limited information about the whistle-blower.....”
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/09/26/reader-center/whistle-blower-identity.html
It makes zero sense he would go to Congress as a member of the executive branch with “vague account of the complaint” and then just be told to go back to the executive branch without any further collaboration - indeed it makes zero sense he would have gone there to begin with.
This “fact check” flies if the face of reality.
It will become the repeated talking point to discredit anyone who questions what Schiff did.
Maybe I’m just getting to be a mean old man.
I think the NY Times is lying.
NYT is getting their information from Shifty.
Right, just like there is “absolutely no evidence” that Biden pressured Ukraine to do anything or that anything improper happened with his son that every newscast perpetuated as though Biden never made the comments he made, that Biden’s son wasn’t paid millions, that the photo of them golfing didn’t exist, that the prosecutor had not given multiple interviews months ago stating that is the reason he was fired, etc. They just lie.
