2) impeach Trump, and then claim that while being impeached he has no right to appoint a justice

What you said AND the Left wants any SCOTUS decision, if it goes against them, to be considered illegitimate because Kavanaugh is on SCOTUS. They are attempting to put an “asterisk” next to his name & associated SCOTUS decisions.
People need to go to jail for lying about Kavanaugh - they should start with Blasey-Ford, especially after her lawyer’s latest comments. Book authors lying for publicity should be aggressively sued for libel/slander or whatever shoe fits. It won’t happen, but it should.
