Ted, With all due respect, don't hoist your own foibles onto others. If you had been doing a few more things right and campaigned better, maybe you could have beaten Beto by more than 2% (Greg Abbot won TX by 17% btw) and Beto would have been thrown into the trash heap where he belongs.

Lyin’ Ted is just aching to be the leading man in the “Ted Saves Texas” movie.

They hate the president, and that is a powerful motivator.

Fear of being rounded up and murdered by Leftists is a powerful motivator too. Think that statement is hyperbolic? Look at the media acquiescence toward the violence of Antifa and the outright praise of that group by Leftists.

I’m not suggesting ignoring what happened in 2018 but really, how about a bit of perspective?

In 2010 the Democrats took a far, FAR worse shellacking in the 1st midterm after Obama’s election. They lost 65 House seats a ton of Senate seats, Governorship’s etc. In total all across America they lost over 900 elective office seats. The reporting was that it was all over and the Dems would never recover, Obama would never get reelected etc.

Two yrs later Obama won and it wasn’t even close.

Last time, there were Beto the Fake Hispanic tv commercials every third commercial. We never saw one for Cruz. That’s how to lose, Ted.

Sorry, Ted, but in 2018 a lot of Texans were voting for the jersey, not you.

But if Cornyn isn't primaried there will be a lot more nose-holding in 2020 in the Senate race. Cornyn's only plus is that Trump will be on the ballot to help haul his tired old RINO hide across the finish line.

I agree with the general premise that Texas is in danger electorally. 100,000 illegals flooding into the country every month, they are staying in all the border states, plus spreading out all over the country. But Texas has to be absorbing a very large portion of this. Trump has to accept some of the blame because he had the opportunity and the authority to close the damn border down completely, and punted. It’s only a matter of time for Texas turning blue, it will be lucky to survive 2020.

Texas (and BA, FL, NC) are in play because Republican policies have been successful. Voters from Rust Belt cities are migrating to Red state jobs.

Nobody (at least in GA) is asking these new voters why there are no jobs in Democrat Rust Belt cities and plenty of jobs in Red states. The Republican Party (RNC, State and County) are not asking. Heritage, CATO, AFP are not reaching out beyond the choir. Tea Party and Trump supporters are all focused on the non-voters coming from outside the US.

Non-citizens are not the threat. Rust Belt voters who don’t undestand why they are in Red States need to be educated. Nobody is providing the service.

Trump Is Terrified Of Socialism And Doesn’t Think He Can Beat It
Another “headline” from this “source” I have never heard of until today.
Farron Cousins is the executive editor of The Trial Lawyer magazine and a contributing writer at DeSmogBlog.com. He is the co-host / guest host for Ring of Fire Radio. His writings have appeared on Alternet, Truthout, and The Huffington Post. Farron received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of West Florida in 2005 and became a member of American MENSA in 2009.
About the author of that above-linked screed. Looks like more verbal manure.

I am sure the “Hate Ted” faction will be out in spades on this.

Not sure I am all that enamored with him myself.

That being said, his hypothesis should not be dismissed out of hand.

Trump loosing Texas would be indeed very damaging. If one other large population state like Florida flips, I think Mr. Trump could be defeated, and thereby those of us who love the Republic.

When (not if) the Hispanic voting majority in Texas is old enough to vote, Texas becomes Tejas, a permanent lock for the Democrats. Like Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, and of course California, Tejas will be part of the GOP stronghold-turned-graveyard that is the American West.

The Electoral College then becomes as out of reach for the GOP as the CA State Assembly is today. Game over. America over.

That said, I don’t think that in 2020, Hispanics will have the numbers yet to murder Texas/America. But beyond 2020...??

Ted, i doubt that Texas will flip in 2020. Will it? Yes, if Texas doesn’t stop importing Californians into Texas. Don’t California Texas!!!

Ted Cruz supporters such as myself and Jim Robinson (and most others on this forum) had sense enough to switch our support to Donald Trump and help get him elected.

Donald Trump would not be president without nearly all of the Cruz (for president) supporters.

If the Texas Trump supporters who dislike Cruz do not wake up, quit their divisiveness, and support the most conservative and Trump-supporting candidates, we risk losing.

The difference in numbers for Abbott and Cruz in 2018 might be a sign of election fraud or they might be a sign of Republican voters stupid enough to risk giving Democrats more power than they already have.

If we lose the White House due to this infighting (whether in 2020 or 2024 or later), there is a risk that if CW2 comes, it will be during the presidency of a Democrat. And that will tilt the odds toward America falling into Socialism. That’s something that must never happen.

Conservatives and pragmatic Trump supporters must band together and keep a united front against the lunatic socialist fringe trying to take over our nation.

Gregg Abbott won back the governorship handily by a way wider margin than Cruz.
Texans split the vote Cruz was popular but like this headline illustrates he is tone deaf.

i wonder why cruz is speaking with the Christian Science Monitor? It’s one of the most leftist outfits around, which is quite evident if you’ve ever read very much of their propaganda ...

Ted Cruz shouldn’t be “warning”.

He should say that he will work tirelessly to make sure Republicans will carry Texas.

I an a realist and I believe Ted Cruise is right about Texas being in play...I live in California a state ruined by liberalism. where do you think Californians are moving to after ruining this state Texas. most that are moving are doing this for financial reasons and not because the state is more conservative. expect an erosion of the percentage of conservative to libral along with voter fraud migrating there.
