On Thursday morning, Republican Senator Ted Cruz attended a breakfast gathering for the Christian Science Monitor where he warned, the Texas could absolutely be in play in 2020 now theres a couple of quotes from Ted Cruz at that breakfast meeting that I want to read, and again, I have to go ahead and admit wholeheartedly I agree with most of what Ted Cruz says here and here it is.
I think the Texas election in 2018 is powerful foreshadowing for what to expect across the country in 2020 that is correct. The Democrats in Texas increased their turnout in more than 100% the far left has pissed off. They hate the president, and that is a powerful motivator. If the left shows up in massive numbers and everybody else doesnt, thats how we end up with an incredibly damaging election for the Republican party damaging election, and again, youre right about that, but youre wrong about it. Just being that were pissed off at the president. You see, thats the thing I dont think a lot of people grasp right now.
[cut]
Cruz continued. If we lose Texas, its game over.

Trump Is Terrified Of Socialism And Doesnt Think He Can Beat ItAnother headline from this source I have never heard of until today.

Looks like more verbal manure.
Frankly, my biggest concern is the president’s gun control package.
Clearly the gop is is filled with leftists.
Elections do not matter, supreme courts do not matter when only criminals and government have the weapons. At least, that’s what history shows.
I am sure the “Hate Ted” faction will be out in spades on this.
Not sure I am all that enamored with him myself.
That being said, his hypothesis should not be dismissed out of hand.
Trump loosing Texas would be indeed very damaging. If one other large population state like Florida flips, I think Mr. Trump could be defeated, and thereby those of us who love the Republic.
When (not if) the Hispanic voting majority in Texas is old enough to vote, Texas becomes Tejas, a permanent lock for the Democrats. Like Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, and of course California, Tejas will be part of the GOP stronghold-turned-graveyard that is the American West.
The Electoral College then becomes as out of reach for the GOP as the CA State Assembly is today. Game over. America over.
That said, I don’t think that in 2020, Hispanics will have the numbers yet to murder Texas/America. But beyond 2020...??
Ted, i doubt that Texas will flip in 2020. Will it? Yes, if Texas doesn’t stop importing Californians into Texas. Don’t California Texas!!!
Ted Cruz supporters such as myself and Jim Robinson (and most others on this forum) had sense enough to switch our support to Donald Trump and help get him elected.
Donald Trump would not be president without nearly all of the Cruz (for president) supporters.
If the Texas Trump supporters who dislike Cruz do not wake up, quit their divisiveness, and support the most conservative and Trump-supporting candidates, we risk losing.
The difference in numbers for Abbott and Cruz in 2018 might be a sign of election fraud or they might be a sign of Republican voters stupid enough to risk giving Democrats more power than they already have.
If we lose the White House due to this infighting (whether in 2020 or 2024 or later), there is a risk that if CW2 comes, it will be during the presidency of a Democrat. And that will tilt the odds toward America falling into Socialism. That’s something that must never happen.
Conservatives and pragmatic Trump supporters must band together and keep a united front against the lunatic socialist fringe trying to take over our nation.
Yep
Not liking this new format (or is it a setting?). I’d rather see the beginning of the article rather than the last comment. Is there a setting or is this the way it is now?
Agreed.
If the election was this November instead of 2018, I think Beto would lose by 10. Beto got even weirder regardless of how awful Cruz is, I think hed do better.
Gregg Abbott won back the governorship handily by a way wider margin than Cruz.
Texans split the vote Cruz was popular but like this headline illustrates he is tone deaf.
Indeed.
i wonder why cruz is speaking with the Christian Science Monitor? It’s one of the most leftist outfits around, which is quite evident if you’ve ever read very much of their propaganda ...
I guess my bookmark for the news-forum is now going to the comments tab... just need to update my bookmark. Just had to change my bookmark

On the contrary. What is causing divisiveness here is self interested career politicians like Cruz trying to create some daylight between themselves and Trump. I expect a lot more of this from the peanut gallery in the run up to 2020. No doubt these types are jockeying for “conservative” leadership should Trump lose in 2020. Cruz himself has admitted he still has POTUS ambitions.
The Bushes did this in their snotty noblesse oblige as the patrician New Englanders they are at their core
The new abolitionist
Bring the brown man here to improve him and commit political suicide for those you purport to represent at the same time
Thanks for selling out our birthright

Senators run their mouths for a living. GOP ones in particular. No surprise Cruz would talk to any outfit willing to give him press. This is the unofficial post Trump primary, IMO. Expect Rand, etc., to do the same in the run up to 2020. Then should Trump lose they are positioned at the front of the line for 2024.
Ted was handing out teddy bears to invader kids with Glen .
Ted pushed TPP that allowed hordes SE Asians flood our labor pool abd also killed our laws protecting US business .
And Ted hired Neil Bush when his campaign was on the brink. If that doesn’t tell you where he loyalties ultimately are nothing does.
