Breaking Down the Report of an Imminent McCabe Indictment
National Review ^ | September 12, 2019 | ANDREW C. MCCARTHY

Posted on 09/12/2019 7:29:30 PM PDT by KTM rider

McCabe has indicated that, if charged, he would claim the Justice Department was under pressure from the White House. Federal prosecutors in Washington have recommended that criminal charges be filed against Andrew McCabe, the FBI’s former deputy director, and the Justice Department has rejected a last-ditch appeal by McCabe’s lawyers, according to a report on Thursday by Fox News. This clears the way for what appears to be McCabe’s imminent indictment.

The prosecutor is the same one that left the Pakistani DNC spy off scot free.

Who wouldn’t love to be on a Grand Jury where the 2nd in command of the FBI was the target?

Believe it when I see it.

Yep. I would like to be pleasantly surprised, but I don’t believe it will happen.

Not yet. The prosecutor had to get a grand jury to agree.

Wouldn't you think that has already happened for them to be floating this story publicly?

A Jury in D.C, who voted for Hillary at 90 percent will never convict a democrat. It is very sad

an indictment is nice, but what I want is a conviction, time served doesn’t matter because he will be in special custody to prevent him from being every con’s b!tch (which will be a shame, if the case gets that far).

I truly despised that show, got fooled into attending it once and some schmuck pointed me out as a “virgin” what followed next was not pretty. suffice it to say that there was one less person able to ever act again afterwards.

Did I mention I don’t like surprises?

McCarthy was pretty squishy when this all started, but he has become one of the clearest advocates for retribution we have.

What’s interesting is that the charges being discussed here are for perjury and misleading investigators. Serious stuff to be sure, but nothing compared to the charges he could face from Durham’s investigation which relates to FISA abuse and the larger conspiracy to remove a sitting President. That investigation could lead to charges of sedition for all those involved. That’s a capital crime and the penalty could be death. It seems likely that these lesser charges against McCabe are being brought in an effort to get him to testify against his co-conspirators in the more serious FISA abuse scandal. Plead guilty to perjury and get 5 - 10 years and testify against Comey et. al. regarding FISA abuse, and we won’t charge you for sedition. 5-10 years in jail versus the death penalty? Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I would imagine he’d take it.

McCabe has indicated that, if charged, he would claim the Justice Department was under pressure from the White House.

So, he's not disputing the charges. His defense is that the White House pressured the DOJ? Not smart at all and is not denying the charges.

I think that’s McCabe’s way of signaling that he’s willing to turn on the higher ups in the scandal. Eventually this will lead to the White House. What we’re seeing is a strategy to go for the low lying fruit to get them to turn on the ringleaders.

He can still cut a deal, although I think he would have to give them something really big at this point, and it sounds like they’ve been making offers for the past 2 weeks but AG Barr said no, indict him instead.

I’ll say again: You will likely not see Comey, Brennan, Clapper et al indicted. They were too high up and those jobs give them almost infinite leeway, just like corporate CEOs do not typically go to jail when their companies commit crimes or kill people. But there are other very painful ways for them to receive what they have coming, including financial. I think McCabe will be indicted but he may be the highest level actor in all this who is. We’ll see.

As I remember when McCabe was walked out of the FBI he said that if he goes down others will go down. A classy guy.
