Why do I keep having to replace these new-style bulbs that claim to have a ten-year life span?
Because they lie. When they say it has a 10 tear lifespan, they mean that 1 in 100 will last 10 years.
Read the fine print. That's only if you use them no more than 3 hours a day. Work from home (or retired) and use them 15 hours a day, and you are down to no more than 2 years. And the heat buildup may cause the electronics to fail even faster.
I have noticed that the cheap Chinese crap ones I buy at Home Depo last a lot longer than the cheap Chinese crap ones that come from Walmart. And I haven't had one burn through yet like a couple of toxic twisties did.
“Why do I keep having to replace these new-style bulbs that claim to have a ten-year life span?”
BS. I started converting three years ago and finished the whole house about 8 months ago. I have not had to replace any of the LEDs.
Because they are made in China.
You must be using the outdated fossil fuel generated electricity, which causes havoc on the newer wonderful bulbs.
You must use only clean electricity, generated by winds, solar panels and such, hence more pure, to prevent the newer bulbs from premature failure.
