Well, we have a basic disagreement that is near impossible to resolve at this time of night with all other factors included.

That we disagree is OK, so long as we respect the other.

I have many times agreed with you. That I don’t here is a minor thing.

G+dbless, and see you next time

The government didn't have to, my kids, just like my wife and I have all of our vaccinations, done and current. Yes, too bad the government has to step in and insist on some commonsense from ignorant people, but better that then let them spread disease.

Besides, as someone else wrote, we've all gotten these vaccines, we're all doing just fine. There is no undeniable proof of anyone harmed. Seriously, I've never once met anyone, known anyone hurt or have a family member hurt. All these anti-vaccine idiots are doing is spread conspiracy theories and BS.

How about the needles, though? That I have a problem with! Especially in the hands of a nurse that likes to jab it in to the bone, then twist it, all with a smile.

"Today’s generation has closer to 30 REQUIRED shots by age 2."

Such a claim gives me doubt. Reference?

"The discovery of SV40 revealed that between 1955 and 1963 around 90% of children and 60% of adults in the U.S. were inoculated with SV40-contaminated polio vaccines."

1963 was 56 years ago. You don't think that vaccines have improved since then?

Thanks Don.

There is always the possibility the parameters could change. It’s hard to be completely infallible on this one either way > IMO. Take care.

“Vax? Dead Doctors Don’t Lie.”

Hey I recognize that quote, it’s the motto of vaccine denier Joel Wallach, the veterinary necropsy/ naturopath who pushes supplements on George Noory’s overnight show.

My favorite part is when he tells people that they should eat 8 eggs a day. The Egg Board ought to seriously consider paying him.

He used to be affiliated with one of the Tijuana “cancer clinics”, Hospital Santa Monica, where Coretta Scott King went for “treatment” and died. Maybe she didn’t eat enough eggs.

Yes, I consider myself lucky during the polio outbreak. It just affected my back but a friend of mine, same age, ended up with shriveled legs and crutches. I had to go through 12 years of painful weekly therapy to keep my back in shape, and then got got drafted at age 19 in 1970 but got a 4F because of my back.

It’s interesting that the the designation of 4F (meaning missing 4 front teeth) started during the Civil War during the 1860s because you had to have teeth to tear off the the end of a black powder paper cartridge before loading your musket or rifle. No teeth and you couldn’t load your gun, so you got a 4F. Lot of men with no teeth back then.

Would be nice if we got the mercury out of vaccines

Thimerosal was taken out of childhood vaccines in the United States in 2001. Despite that, since then the rate of childhood autism has continued to rise. Thimerosal was not to blame.

This link has already been posted here, but it is good enough to post twice.

And whatever other bioengineered substances they want to put in. The technology to genetically enhance them can be good or bad. I wonder which way our trusty pharmaceutical companies are headed.

“We don’t know what we don’t know”

Yes I think things have improved since 1956.

“Settled science?” NO.

My wife was raised Christian Science. She was not “all in” to their beliefs, and became a nurse. Our oldest son was diagnosed with ADHD and a regime of Ritalin was prescribed. We considered it, and said NO. The reason? It would mean years of ingestion of this chemical cocktail with UNKNOWN future results. Turns out, there were a lot of “side effects” that would not be apparent for years.

We realized that our son was part of a grand experiment. We had a difficult choice. He had a lot of difficulty and barely managed to graduate from high school. He just could not focus on school work....but....now he is a big success. He is a networking computer professional....self taught....has his own company building a maintaining intranets for small and medium size businesses.

I think we made the right choice....but it looked bad, very bad, for a while.

I don’t think the competent authorities have evil motives in their determination to vaccinate. But I respect the parents who want to say no.

I have gotten the Shingles vaccine...the first one. Now, they say we need a better one. I am going to get that one too. And it requires 2 doses, two shots, some months apart. Its my decision. If you don’t want it, you should have the option. Its different because it does not threaten the larger group of all adults?

Maybe.

But remember, the ones recommending the inoculations are reading literature and studies and promotions. They might have missed something. If I was 5 years old, or 20...maybe I would say no. I should have a choice.

The abortion industry is also heavily involved with vaccines. If people knew the whole truth, they might say things differently.

I find it interesting how many people on this site distrust EVERYTHING that comes out of the mouth of government.

Except for the claim that vaccines are 100% safe.

Where does the government say that vaccines are 100 percent safe? I think public health officials do provide risks as with all medicine. Personally, I support vaccines as I had a really tough bout with the measles and would not wish that on anyone.

That’s the number of actual shots (number of doses per disease), not the number of diseases (some shots are for multiple diseases).

The number was taken from here:

CDC Immunization Schedule

https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/schedules/hcp/imz/child-adolescent.html#birth-15

First chart: Birth to 15 months

Second chart, first two columns: 18 to 23 months

He just could not focus on school work....but....now he is a big success.

Congratulations! Happy to hear that. One of my children fit the parameters from a young age. He read early and voraciously and retained knowledge. But, unless something really interested him, his attention span was all over the place. Also he would talk very fast, flitting from topic to topic so quickly that his stream of thought was difficult to follow and sometimes didn't make sense. OTOH, the rest of us didn't seem to make much sense to him, either.

This continued through the teen years. So many boys take behavioral medication, but no way would I have ever agreed to it. I was thinking he really has a unique way of looking at the world. Where is this going? Now in college, yes, he's had some struggles, but now I see where it all was headed: He's quick with the jokes, and he still has a different way of seeing the world. He's switching to a major in the computer field, so I was happy to see your post.

recently saw a bio of Bill Gates

Inside Bill’s Brain: Decoding Bill Gates; Season 1 Episode 1

He was a mess. Difficult. horrible. his mind is all over the place. turned out just fine. a lot of trouble for his parents. therapy for all. still difficult for people to comprehend. jumps around. combative. arrogant.

but has a stable marriage, good family life....and lots of money....and now....honorable purpose for humanity. he is determined to eradicate polio from this planet....and he has spent lots of time and money on it and has it about 99% licked. not satisified with that, he is redirecting his focus to improving sanitation in the 3rd world through new waste treatment technologies....and thereby eliminating cholera. what’s not to like?

Wow, I never knew all that about Bill Gates, but I always believed that maybe this thing is a gift.

It seems to be a way of thinking that comes across as disjointed at a young age. Then later, as it matures, it transforms into something else?

I’m glad to see that your son has become successful using that gift.

Mine is still finding his way. I hope everything works out for him, too.
