When LaKambria S. Welsch drove to Boone's Camp Event hall on Saturday, she was in search of an explanation.
Welch told The Washington Post in an email that her brother and his finacee had recently been coordinating with the wedding venue in Booneville, Miss., about hosting their upcoming nuptials until they were informed that they were no longer welcome.
Why? Welch said it's because her brother is black and his bride-to-be is white.
In a now viral video shared to social media by Welch over the weekend, a woman identified as the event hall's owner can be seen telling the 24-year-old, "First of all, we don't do gay weddings or mixed race...because of our Christian race, I mean or Christian belief."

The news media will do anything to create news because they have no real Journalism anymore
Ive done a random unscientific poll for the last ten years every time I go to Walmart. Of the interracial couples 90% or more involve a black man and a white woman. This obviously makes a lot of black women, mothers included, upset.
The current fashion seems to be for white women to date and marry black men, while white men date and marry Asian women. I’ll admit I contributed to that trend, because I’m as W.A.S.P. as you can get (some of my ancestors DID come over on the Mayflower), but my wife of 33 years is from the Philippines.
Oh, I never believed the activists. The last I heard, they were arguing on whether Jesus was black or a Palestinian.
“I see no problem with this. They can believe what they like and act on it.”
I agree. I’m for freedom of association.
should have been a thread ender...
When children are the product of these marriages, the offspring present as an intermingling of the individual physical ethnic characteristics of both parental races. Giving us a non-white homogeneous population with no individual physical distinguishing characteristics.
Look at some of the clothing catalogs and you will see models who are the product of interracial marriage. You can't tell what they are. But the one thing you can say with certainty is that they aren't white. Game set match.
Another phenomenon is the fact that invaders and border jumpers from South America and Mexico always marry within their own kind. You don't see illegals choosing partners outside their own ethnic group. They are too busy making anchor babies to worry about finding someone different from them to have children with.
These days i wonder if the couple actually intended to marry or if they were activists intending to shut down a nonPC operation. This would be a logical progression from demanding Homosexual themed cakes of a known-to-be Christian baker.
I think this couple is sincere. Now the next interracial couple who sound out the venue about renting it for their marriage? Them I would be suspicious of.
I am no Biblical scholar, so help me out here. What “Christian belief” prohibits inter-racial marriage?
Hi.
Biblical? Somebody hasn’t read the Torah.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that neither side has read the Torah.
You are probably right.
Just like reading the U.S. Constitution. Not happening.

Re: How would her knowledge or lack of knowledge that she was being filmed impact her Christian believe?
I am not a religious person, so I never argue about religious issues.
I am, however, an intensely political person, and this whole thing smells like a well planned scheme to induce some bumpkin in Mississippi to make incendiary racial comments that can be posted on the Internet.
By the way...
I do have a theory that deeply held political beliefs, and deeply held religious beliefs, occupy exactly the same part of the human brain.
It did not appear that that bumpkin needed all that much inducement to express her religious views.
However, one the media and her lawyers got involved, she altered her life long religious views in around 3.5 seconds.
Look at some of the clothing catalogs and you will see models who are the product of interracial marriage. You can’t tell what they are.
Why do you find it necessary to know the race or ethnicity of models in clothing catalogs?
So . . . a white and Black Baptist is a "mixed marriage" while a white Baptist and b*ddhist or Black Baptist and b*ddhist isn't???
I am a Theonomic positivist. If there is a Halakhah forbidding interracial marriage then I will accept it. But as of right now, I don't think there is. And it is forbidden to make up "commandments" and attribute them to G-d.
There you go, a man and woman of different races is the same as two men or two women. Ugh.
Well this is the same beliefs that Bob Jones and several other colleges had for a long time, I do think that Bob Jones has changed their beliefs over time.
Adopted interracially and frankly, I think people are better off if left alone on this issue.
