Joe Biden defended the heartfelt war story he told a New Hampshire crowd last week as having gotten its 'essence' correct after an analysis showed it was nearly entirely fabricated, or a combination of unrelated memories.
The former vice president brushed aside a Washington Post report showing he got numerous details wrong when he talked about awarding a Navy war hero the Silver Star.
'The assertion I made was there was a young man that I attempted to pin a medal on at the request of the commander and he said "I dont want it. He died. He died." It turns out thats true. The young man did say that,' Biden told The Washington Post of his tale of awarding a medal to a soldier who told Biden he didn't want it because the colleague he was trying to save died.
'They went back, Im told I didnt see the story but, yeah, its exactly true. Thats what I was talking about. There was a separate incident that occurred in a different time and a different circumstance. But what I was talking about was a young man. I mean, what is the gaffe when I said there is a young man I tried to pin a medal on and he said "I dont want it sir. He died. He died. He died,"' Biden said.

Was along time ago in a galaxy far far away .. .
Thats nothing. I hit the beach @ Iwo Jima, wiped out a machine gun nest then raised the Flag on Suribachi
“Keep this insane and dangerous man away for being our president!”
There is no chance that lunatic will get the nomination, Biden will drop out of the race by Nov.
Basically Biden is saying: “You media reporting my gaffes and lies are just making fools of yourselves. I’m a democrat so I’m immune to any criticism. Get your collective head out of your ass and start reporting things properly”.
“There we were, me and Jim Bowie at the Alamo...’’
Or a furniture store.
Dementia also, Things get mixed up, stories are told out of context, elements of three different stories get compiled into one, proper vocabulary use gets jumbled. But no matter how mixed up it gets from reality, there is absolutely no way they can be wrong in their own mind. From watching Biden I have noticed a lot of similar signs to what happened to my Dad as his dementia began and advanced. And it wasn’t slow either, within a year and a half it advanced to full blown dementia.
Purity of essence. P.O.E... We must preserve and not corrupt or taint our precious bodily fluids
And they thought he misspoke when he said “truth over facts”. That should be the dnc slogan. The spin party.
Joe, do you know what the phrase “Stop digging!” means?
You don’t? Good, then just keep on making it worse.
There was a reason that Obama tried his best to keep Biden completely away from a microphone for all those years.
Can’t stop laughing, thanks for that
“He didn’t want the damn medal! Preposterous...who is the media anyway? Trying to make me look bad? I’m a Democrat, I’m above criticism. I’m not to be questioned or f*cked with” ...Biden is a denial old twerp
That is how it was with dad at first. Short term memory loss but great long term memory retention. Then even those long term memories started to get jumbled up and inaccurate. The places, people, time frames, all started to get shuffled to the point none of it makes any sense anymore. But in his mind he is sure it is absolutely accurate word for word.
Fake but accurate
Liberals. Liars. They, and they alone, get to define the parameters of “truth.” It’s only a lie if they say it’s a lie.
‘And to think that essence is French for gasoline.’
‘Je n’ais pas presque plus d’essence’...says the former veep about his presidential campaign...
having gotten its ‘essence’ correct
So Joe farted too?
the great Sterling Hayden, who milked his small role in ‘The Godfather’ for all it was worth...
