Hurricane Dorian battered St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and brushing Puerto Rico. Taking aim at the Florida Atlantic Coastline, Hurricane Dorian is projected to be a major hurricane (Category 3) at landfall.

best not “beat” ...waaah
Looks like the eye is going to crawl westward over the whole length of Grand Bahama Island... will the center being over that strip of land knock the storm down a little in strength or will it feed from the outer bands that will remain over water?
He is saying the hurricane will go north close to the coast and not come into Florida due to the factors he mentioned. That is the track he is forecasting.
Think it means if Dorian turns like they predict, it wont land on Coast till north of Savanah ? Gonna want to stay over warm water. Yeah, and plenty of that to the south. But Joe Knows Canes, baby.
Got it. Thanks!
Thanks!
My money says a Florida western broadside and has been 3 days runnin
Agreed
Thank you
Many thanks for checking in and for your kind and thoughtful post. Please continue to provide updates when you are able. Very relieved to know you are evacuating in advance of this powerful storm.
We in Broward have appreciated your work on these threads for years.
Thank you and blessings to you
Thank you, FRiend!
While it is closing off there is still receptive space over SE Florida for the outer periphery of the cyclone. Can see a little flat line setting up as contours pack though right along the coast. But that combined with the Grand Bahama issue could get it very close if OBS correct pic.twitter.com/vDhjbXPcxW— crankyweatherguy (@crankywxguy) September 2, 2019
Very good current information (9/1) from “Tropical Tidbits” on YouTube:
Yep....even the earth ages. So naturally it’s going to less stable.
Lauren Seabrook WFTV: HURRICANE HACK: To know if your power went out long enough for food to spoil, freeze water in a glass, place a quarter on top, then put it back in your freezer. After the storm, if the quarter has fallen down inside the cup, youll know power was out long enough to melt the ice.
Troubled souls from areas like Colorado, Wisconsin and Michigan are usually the ones who disrupt the hurricane threads. You would think I’ve been trolling their discussion threads concerning snow blower maintenance and snow cone recipes. I can assure you I have not.
Not all us Coloradans are jerks. I appreciate your threads and the ability to keep tabs on what is headed to my florida branch of the family!
Definitely not all Coloradans! You are wonderful!
