There was a lot of squawking about reparations going on during the 2000 to 2001 timeframe.
I remember watching on CSPAN some of Calypso Louie’s so-called Million Man March. There was a lot of talk about reparations by the speakers. There was even some some jack@ss singing and dancing to a song about reparations. I’ll never forget one line in the lyrics: “I want a mansion on a hill, and a Cadillac Coup de Ville, reparations, reparations!”

According to Thomas Sowell, there were decades where blacks were advancing faster than whites and where they had stable families and middle class values which then lost ground during the “Great Society” push by Johnson.

Reparations are the white flag of people who accept that they can’t compete with others THEY view as superior - and the bill would be footed by the growing populations of Asians and Hispanics as well as the dwindling number of whites.
We can’t let them control the discussion with the “400 years” BS; the US had legalized slavery for 80 years (1783-1863). Oddly enough, the European monarchs had it for about twice as long before the creation of the US, and in a couple of years (2023) we’ll have had it for twice as long since.
