Lee said, The commission would study reparation proposals. We would not dictate to the commission its design but, clearly, it would be designed for those descendants of slavery. Tragically, 250 years of slavery in the United States for those enslaved Africans did not receive workmans comp, salary, 401(k), or anything, and literally built the wealth of the United States and Europe. Thats why it was called the trans-Atlantic slave trade, taking enslaved Africans from Africa, frankly, from many parts of Africa. This commission would have the authority appointed by the President, the Majority Leader, the Speaker, and scholars, to really dig deep, something that we have never done before and to design the response.
She added, I think America is ready for this because of what we have been going through in the last couple of weeks, because of the attitude of our Commander-in-Chief, and because of what we have seen. The dastardly impacts of white nationalism, white supremacy, and outright racism that has impacted others but certainly has impacted over the decades and centuries African-Americans, the descendants of enslaved Africans.

By the time you tally up what blacks as a group have COST non-blacks for the disproportionately high share of crime, incarceration, illegitimate births, welfare payments, etc., blacks OWE us money.
Enough said!

My 3rd great-grandfather in Tennessee owned a few slaves, but I have not received a dime’s worth of benefit from it. Knowing the circumstances of his daughter, my 2nd great-grandmother, I’m positive she didn’t either. Her husband, my 2nd great-grandfather, was a Union solider who served the entire duration of the war and marched with Sherman to the sea. Maybe my family and I should be compensated for his role in ending slavery and saving the Union, because I’m pretty sure he got nothing but his monthly pay and his meals during those four years. Maybe grandma got a meager pension. But I’m not going to push it. He’s long gone, as are all the slaves he helped free.
My ancestors were slaving away in Polish potato fields.
“Rep. Jackson Lee: America Is Ready for Reparations Because of Trumps Attitude”
So when does white America get its reparations for all the damage done by others? In particular, violent crime, rioting, and many other things that wrecked what had been a very peaceful country.
She was admitted to Yale with an 80 IQ; she has already gotten her reparations.
Pay them their reparations; a first class 1 way ticket anywhere in the world they want to live with $25 grand, provided that they sign a waver denouncing thier citizenship and never come back to the country again.
Everyone, except for a small tier of elite, have a tale of the hardship our immigrant ancestors faced. In the words of that great philosopher Don Henley, these whiners should "get over it". The hardships our ancestors endured in order to survive are the DNA that makes us who we are.
CNN has a wrong and racist attitude.

Really? This wealthy Socialist Beotch can’t afford her own Cabana Boys?
I’ve been saving up for 30 years and I can only afford ONE!

Slavery contributed uncompensated manual labor to the building of America but it can’t be said that it “built” it. Other factors such as the technological innovation, capital investment, managerial and accounting professions, educational institutions, religious universities, abundant natural resources, protection from foreign invasion, and a host of other factors were the real builders of America’s wealth. Outside the deep South there was no significant contribution from African slave labor although much of the expansion of the West was built by Asian slave labor.
The entire issue of reparations is designed to inflame resentment and race conflict and would not begin to address the important real cultural issues that perpetuate poverty across generations.
They do know, dont they, that slavery was the only road to America for blacks in those days? Would they really rather be in Africa? They should pay thank-you reparations to the ancestors of the Arabs who fueled the slave trade by buying and selling Africans back in the day. No Arabs, no slave trade. As simple as that. And by the way, ARABS ARE STILL TAKING AFRICAN SLAVES TODAY. But dont tell that to the UN. And dont tell that to American liberals. Because none of them have the teensiest bit of compassion for Africans living in slavery TODAY. Not the teensiest weensiest bit of compassion.
You nailed every point.
My Sicilian ancestors were slaving away in Louisiana sugar cane fields
And what about relatives of the 600,000 who died to end slavery? Do they have to pay?

The "reparations campaign" began an election cycle ago. It wasn't Trump who "made it necessary", lying bitch. Even her own staff rate her as a rotten person to have to work for.
it was around in 2015 as "the reparations tour". a national event. it continued in 2016 and 2018.
