A person familiar with the Manhattan jail that housed Jeffrey Epstein says it was so short-staffed on his last night alive that one guard on his unit was working a fifth straight day of overtime.

They out of gas! They had a flat tire! They didn’t have enough money for cab fare! Their tuxes didn’t come back from the cleaners! An old friend came in from out of town! Someone stole their cars! There was an earthquake! A terrible flood! Locusts!

I was suspecting the same. Guard was asleep at his desk all night most likely.

Well, yes, that’s the idea. How do you expect them to be fresh the next day?
Epstein should have been moved to a different facility outside the hopelessly corrupt SDNY after his first "suicide attempt". At the very least, military personnel should have been watching over him instead of incompetent/corrupt federal personnel.
He was NOT on suicide watch. In addition he was not given a cellmate. Both are violations of the corrections center’s own policy.

Makes no sense to give him a cellmate.
The man should have been in 24/7 isolation with a dedicated team to watch him and redundant video all over the place.

I have always loved conspiracy theories. They are so interesting. I actually don’t really believe most of them but this time I do.
This one stinks to high heaven.
The worst part of it is: we’ll have to listen to Hannity yammer on endlessly about how his mother was a prison guard, blah, blah, blah.
If you don’t already have a DVR, get one to be able to fast forward thru his monologue.
These particular ones must be part of the 0.1%. It is just unfortunate they were guarding the most important prisoner in federal custody. Purely coincidence, no doubt, and I'm sure the union will get it right next time.
