WASHINGTON Under intense pressure to take action on gun safety in the wake of two weekend massacres, Senator Mitch McConnell, the majority leader, expressed a new willingness Thursday to consider a measure expanding background checks for all gun purchasers, saying it will be front and center in a coming Senate debate on how to respond to gun violence.
There is a lot of support for that, he said.

Don’t let any ‘RAt voters be able to buy guns.
Problem solved.
Traitors
When the answer is "ZERO", SHUT UP ABOUT YOUR PROPOSED LAW!!!
With the morons yelling at his house you’d think he’d understand there is no compromise with these loons.
“Willingness to consider”...I like it.
The media is literally feeding us their playbook, and at this point, I really don't see it being a stretch that bad actors are promoting these events in some back channel manner just to bring this back to the fore.
They're not saying what they want done, they're just saying "DO SOMETHING!"
This is no different than when Obama said he's going to "fundamentally transform America." No one asked "to what?" They just cheered and agreed.
Well, dammit, you're focusing on the wrong stuff, and you're about to infringe on my rights.
In the end, the left does not want to solve it. Otherwise it won’t be an issue.
Dear Mitch:
The Democrats want to commit politicide on the Republicans.
Dont give them any help.
They made a movie about hunting us down.
I dont want to be featured in their documentary.
Let’s bring back the Senate and House from vacation to talk and debate about the following things that may help in preventing mass shootings:
vouchers for education to school of choice for parents
debate on whether juveniles convicted of violent past offences should be prevented from owning a gun
clamp down on Hollywood’s obsession with gun play and violence
Consider revision of laws with regards to compulsory institutionalization of dangerous individuals
promotion of religious freedom
No - HELL NO.
Both guns were purchased legally - both guys passed background checks.
This legislation will do NOTHING but serve to further hinder legitimate users.
Except illegal immigrants who continue to have more rights than citizens.
No. No. Hell no.
Oh yeah I’ll do a background check on my wife...you jagoff.
He might as well. There is little resistance against background checks. Trump likes them and wants to stop selling guns to people that hate — which is virtually everybody. So go figure.
Something needs to be done when a kid in HS makes a kill and rape list as a minor and the school, parents and police do nothing except suspend the kid for 30 days. The school destroyed the list. He turned 18 and nothing on his record followed him.
Privacy and minor laws need to be changed for these high school kids; they know the system as a minor nothing follows them after they graduate.
Antifa = Automatic confiscation

Anyone illegally in the country = Automatic confiscation
Any Hollywood idiot who has ever posted a death threat against anyone in any social media = Automatic confiscation
Any social media titan who owns a company who selectively bans anyone opposed to leftist PC ideology = Automatic confiscation. Eat it, Jack.
Only if part of a package requiring equal background checks for drivers and OTR licenses, voter registration and ID, liquor purchases, marijuana purchases.
Someone should break his other shoulder...
Why?
What the Hell is the point of that, Mitch?
The problem isn’t guns.
The problem is that people don’t value human life.
Now who do think caused this, Mitch?
How about countering with Constitutional Carry ahole.
