Mexico might try to put the El Paso shooter on trial. The U.S. is unlikely to hand him over.

Eight Mexicans were among the 22 victims of Saturday’s mass shooting in El Paso, and Mexico is now exploring an unusual legal recourse: seeking the extradition of an American for a crime carried out on American soil.

Mexico has long used legal action to resolve international disputes, analysts say, but requesting the extradition of an American is unlikely to succeed as long as U.S. authorities continue pursuing a criminal case against the 21-year-old suspected shooter.

Mexico doesn’t have any death penalty and people escape from their sorry jails all the time, so much so they dumped El Chapo on the U.S. after he escaped from the most high-security prison in their entire country. What’s the point?

Once convicted, throw him in a cell block controlled by Mexican cartels and gangs. He wouldn’t last long there...

Do you really wish for this young American to be raped and murdered by foreigners in his country illegally?

I’m not taking up for him, I say it only because I see a future with many Patriots receiving this extra-judicial punishment.

Maybe the corruptocrats in Mexico should do something about the tens of thousands of murders every year in Mexico of Mexicans by other Mexicans.

Let the US take care of this one.

MUCK FEXICO.

Mexico is acting like Nazi Germany with regards to the “Sudeten Germans” in Czechoslovakia.

Only for death penalty cases, right?
They’ve extradited hundreds otherwise.

No way. And we take something for the insult.

No. While justice might be served, that line of my post was hyperbole. It is frustrating watching a justice system that takes decades to work, and for many, does not work at all. This monster will outlive many of the family members of his victims.

I understand. I get frustrated as well. The killer of my Grandfather is still in jail 39 years later.

Maybe. But you know Mexico would not turn over a Mexican to face the death penalty in the US. Let them know it works both ways.

Maybe he should spent about sixty years in a Mexican prison.

El Paso is one of those border towns where people freely move back and forth between the US and Mexico. Nogales is another.

Amen. If only we had reporters who cared enough about the Americans murdered every year by Mexicans, maybe they could write a few words to the Mexican Government, namely F OFF!

This raises a very straightforward & interesting question.

Shouldn’t the US take legal action against Mexico for the sheer number of their citizens who are coming here & committing heinous crimes on American soil?

Shouldn’t we at least try to recover the costs?

Why were they in the US? El Paso isn’t a resort town...

They cross over from Juarez for the day to shop in El Paso. Happens all the time in border towns. Mexicans in Nuevo Laredo cross over to shop in Laredo...people in Reynosa cross over to shop in McAllen and people in Matamoros cross over to shop in Brownsville. It's not illegal to do that.

It’s likely a political stunt on the part of the Mexican government. So long as Texas tries him for the murders then there is no reason to extradite him. If the U.S. were to drop the charges then Mexico would have a claim.

Stupid political stunt.

And as we all know our leaders never, ever pull stupid political stunts, do they?
