Connor Betts, a 24-year-old from Bellbrook, a suburb of Dayton, Ohio, has been identified as the gunman who opened fire early Sunday morning in the heart of a Dayton nightlife district and killed nine people, including his 22-year-old sister, Megan. Betts was killed by police shortly after the shooting began.
When authorities in Ohio confirmed the identity of the shooter, some who went to high school with him were not surprised. A former classmate, for example, said she quickly thought of Betts as soon as she heard about the shooting. Why? He was reportedly suspended for causing a lockdown after he wrote a hit list on a bathroom wall, reports the Dayton Daily News.
I know he made the list, she said. Im not sure who the names were on there. He had a plan to shoot up the school. When asked about the list, Chris Baker, who until recently was principal of the Bellbrook High School, pretty much confirmed the information even though he refused to get into details. I would not dispute that information, he said, but I dont want to get involved any more than just making that comment. Betts had enrolled at Sinclair Community College and studied psychology but was not enrolled this summer.
background check on Betts revealed only two speeding tickets in 2013 and 2014 and no concealed weapons permits. A LinkedIn profile appearing to belong to Betts, which has since been taken down, listed him as an employee at Chipotle Mexican Grill. In his profile, Betts described himself as Good under pressure. Fast learner. Eager to overachieve. Brad Howard, who said he knew Betts for almost 20 years, described him as a nice kid who kept to himself. The Connor Betts that I talked to I always got along with well,

Would never have gotten a gun if this was put on his “Permanent Record”.
He worked for Chipotle Grill. Glad he wasn’t a barrista in the city. He would have wiped out the whole mall. /sarc
BUMP
How to excel... at evil. SMH.
Who knows, but there was a worse problem here.
This should have resulted in at least a juvie bust for criminal menacing — pills or no pills.
The separation of psychiatry and morality is much to blame here.
The ACLU and others will gladly yell and scream when stuff like this is reported and proper;y investigated and/or prosecuted about “muy civil rights” then also yell and scream when some nutjob shoots up a school bar, store, etc.
‘signs were missed’
‘fell through to usual cracks’
All these shooting could easily be prevented, but the solutions escape the professionally oblivious left.
It’s like they have an agenda of something.
The news this morning, at least over the radio, made it out that he was wearing body armor, like a full battle rattle.
A hoodie and khaki pants = not body armor.
No good agenda driven horse hockey to start banning stuff! Just like the .223 (7.62X39) garbage for Dallas they were speaking of, oh and it’s supposedly the Fox affiliate, must be the local.
According to a classmate, dead dude was enrolled in Jr ROTC during high school. Kicked out of ROTC after a hit list was written on the bathroom mirror/wall. A nutter for half his short life.
ROTC sometimes attracts the wrong kind of candidate. This guy writes a hitlist. Did the ROTC post commander make a referral to law enforcement or social services, did law enforcement take the ROTC training seriously when the girl he threatened to kill previously made a complaint, what about the now-retired principal aware of the entire scenario at the time? Was the situation not taken seriously because of the ‘he’s a minor’ factor? Someone above said dead dude had a social worker - so was the social worker monitoring the dude’s internet activity for danger signs?
I’m a strong gun rights advocate but if a minor is expressing thoughts of torture and murder in heinous ways, that is, of deep-seated mental illness, shouldn’t there be a way to get him on a no-buy list for when he does reach 18 or 21? The kid was telegraphing multiple warning signs for 6+ years. A ticking time bomb that everyone around him was wary of. So where was the safety valve ? What is the major malfunction in our mental health programs that we are not identifying and effectively managing the nutters?
+. Good questions.
I will BET that he was on prescribed drugs like Ritalin or similar behavioral changing drugs!
You really peeled that onion. It appears to have similarities to other incidents that were preventable but glossed over on the juvenile/just a minor factor.
Those are durned good questions.
Surprised that there is no pool of blood around him!
“Would never have gotten a gun if this was put on his Permanent Record.”
BINGO! I was going to post something similar. This is the point where we can actually intervene and try to prevent some of the crazies from getting guns in the first place.
Odd that a case worker would invite someone they are overseeing to their house.
I have never heard of a caseworker having a client to his or her home before. Thats highly unusual.
It is so well covered up and hidden that I think the only way it will ever be exposed is for major class action lawsuits to be filed against big pharma by the victims of these shootings.
But first authorities at some point will have to admit this might have had an influence and they just refuse to discuss this possibility. And the media won't talk about it at all.
But I am absolutely sure we are on the right track concerning true primary cause and effect with these shootings.

“Surprised that there is no pool of blood around him!”
He’s been moved. Notice he’s wearing handcuffs.
Didn’t think it was that odd for a caseworker overseeing a kid, but perhaps so.
