Did Flynn Just Call Out Mueller on Under-the-Table Plea Deal

Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn appears to have put the team of former special counsel Robert Mueller on the defensive, unraveling what had been suggested to be a possible unofficial deal with the prosecutors.

Flynn, former national security adviser to President Donald Trump, pleaded guilty in 2017 to one count of lying to the FBI. The Mueller team recommended a light sentence for him, including no prison time, officially because of his contrition for the crime and extensive cooperation with multiple Justice Department investigations.

But it appears that another, unofficial, deal may have been in place.

Several weeks before Flynn signed his plea, NBC News reported, based on unnamed sources, that the Mueller team was trying to get Flynn’s cooperation by threatening to indict his son, Michael Flynn Jr.

“If the elder Flynn is willing to cooperate with investigators in order to help his son … it could also change his own fate, potentially limiting any legal consequences,” the article stated.

This isn’t how an official plea deal would work, according to former FBI agent and Epoch Times contributor Marc Ruskin.

“It would be done with a wink and a nod,” he said in a previous phone interview, later adding that “it wouldn’t be binding, but it would be like an understanding.”

It’s not clear whether any such deal was reached and if so, what specifically it entailed. But Flynn’s case involves a number of peculiarities that suggest something was going on behind the scenes.

Flynn’s statement of offense attached to his plea acknowledges that he lied to the FBI during a Jan. 24, 2017, interview.

It’s the old Chicago-style protection racket at work. And who might have been the Chicagoan responsible for institutionalizing the scam into the Fed?

I stopped thinking of Flynn as a “victim” in this mess a long time ago. At every step in this process, his legal strategy has seemed to be the exact opposite of what I’d expect from someone who was the victim of a malicious prosecution.

Exactly Muellers goon squad held Flynn’s son over a cliff and said cooperate or we drop him.

Flynn’s former attorneys belonged to the same law firm as Eric Holder. Something tells me they weren’t working in Flynn’s best interest.

I have seen speculation about that, but no corroboration. And what changed about that threat that suddenly made Flynn decide to stop cooperating?

Is Flynn such a dim bulb that he couldn’t figure any of that out? You’re kind of making my point here.

Now that Flynn has attorney actually working for him rather than against him like his previous attorneys, his case is going to take a dramatic turn in his favor.

Sidney Powell hates Mueller, Weissmann and the rest of the corrupt DOJ prosecutors.

Flynn, like most people, assumed his attorneys were working to advance his best interests. He was wrong. An attorney who actually worked for him would have had the charges dismissed within a month or two. His former attorneys not only against him, they worked to bleed him dry of his money for their personal benefit; and laughing at him behind his back all the time.

I’ll believe that when Flynn himself comes out and says so — either directly or through a formal complaint against his former lawyers. Until then, your post just gets added to the huge pile of speculation about his case that I’ve seen here on FR.

I’m curious as to what crime his son was supposed to have committed.

Something about failing to register as a foreign lobbyist, from what I’ve seen.

This recent possibility is more of the same. If Flynn had a secret deal with Mueller, then that could be a problem for Flynn. Whenever a defendant in federal court pleads guilty under a Plea Agreement, the Court asks a series of questions to be sure the plea is knowing and voluntary. One question asked is whether there are other promises made that are not reflected in the Plea Agreement. If that question was asked and Flynn said No, then either he lied at the time, or he is lying now. Neither outcome will be good for Flynn.

I’ve known too many people who have been scammed by their attorneys who thought they were working for their best interests, but weren’t.

Flynn’s attorneys had to know that the charge against Flynn was for a 150+ year-old Logan Act “crime” that has been charged less than 10 times; has never resulted in a conviction; and, is widely considered to be unconstitutional. This has been widely reported.

Flynn’s attorneys didn’t even ask for the original 302s in which the FBI agents wrote that they did not think Flynn lied. If they had, the prosecutor or judge would have been forced to dismiss the criminal complaint. This has also been reported, the 302s have finally been turned over, and admitted to by the FBI.

Say what you want, but those are the facts. It’s not speculation.

Flynn doesn’t have a problem. The prosecutor has a huge problem. Intimidating and threatening a witness, and Flynn is a witness in his own case, are felonies; as is suborning perjury. It’s also obstruction of justice.

Because Flynn was threatened if he didn’t agree to what the prosecutor wanted, he has an absolute defense.

By that measure, Flynn is too retarded to dress himself in the morning — let alone serve as the National Security Advisor. Like I said before ... he’s not a “victim” in any sense of the word.

Perhaps, and I hope you are correct. But, then it comes down to a swearing contest. Flynn will say there was a side deal he agreed to because he was threatened. The government will deny the threats and will deny the existence of any side agreement. Presumably, Flynn’s prior counsel was present when the alleged threats were made and the side agreement was forced on him. But, if they were and said nothing about the threats, and later stood silently in court when Flynn denied the existence of any unwritten promises or agreements, then that is a huge problem for counsel in terms of their duty to the client and candor to the court. Rather than go down that road, prior counsel, if compelled to testify, probably will agree with the government that there were neither threats nor a side deal. If so, Flynn is left hanging.

Flynn is a very smart guy. He just wasn’t educated in the ways and methods of a corrupt justice system. This often happens with people who have unquestionable integrity and have been surrounded with other such people for most of their lives. They mistakenly believe others in government also have a high degree of integrity.

Most people think judges are honest. With rare exception, nothing could be further from the truth.
