Taking bets on this as a premeditated singling out out the wedding dress designer.
Yep
An effort to get the interstate commerce law (I think that is what it is called) to apply to social issues. Missouri, they will say, must apply NY’s law regardless of First Amendment protections...and/or NY based businesses must apply anti-1A laws across state lines.
I agree. They probably searched the web for someone whose website included Christian terms or images.
That said, any Christian person in the wedding industry who isn’t aware of these ambushes should be, and could reply with something like, “Thank you for your inquiry, but my other commitments preclude my serving you at this time.”
And then hope for an out of court settlement.
I thought that most businesses reserved the right to refuse service to anyone without giving specific reasons....or does this only apply in certain circumstances??
Yep, premeditated, I’m guessing. I’m a real estate investor and one of my favorite realtors is gay. We were talking about stuff like this just yesterday and he’s sick of these militant homos going out of their way to create life hell for both sides. He said there’s a definite backlash going on to where he now hides his lifestyle on social media. The SJWLGTQ are making it worse on themselves and they don’t even know it. If they DO know it, they don’t care - because most of them are narcissists anyway!
Once again, this will not end until the cowardly USSC makes a clear, not nuanced, statement on this.
And I’ll bet you are right.
Yup! Trying to ruin a BLACK, CHRISTIAN woman.
