Don't evacuate them to Houston! Send them to San Francisco.

Why doesn’t New Orleans just post a boat schedule at the bus stops? It could come in handy.

so when you live in a city that’s six feet below sea level, how many times do you have to get your house flooded before you decide to move to higher ground?

Should have moved it upriver after Katrina. The land has been sinking for hundreds of years. It is below sea level. Enough is enough The part of New Orleans everyone thinks about when they hear "New Orleans" (French Quarter, CBD, Marigny, etc.) is actually not below sea level.

Subsidence caused by withdrawal of subterranean fluids, i.e., water, oil, natural gas, etc.

I know why it was banned. I listen to his webcast every morning and today while talking about the storm and the coming heat mentioned ambulance chasing climate change proponents. That I’m sure will get you banned from YouTube.

Is this Trump’s fault, because he pulled us out of the Paris global warming agreement?
Isn’t it a fact, that these storms would not be happening, except for Trump pulling us out of the Paris agreement?

"[Bastardi] mentioned ambulance chasing climate change proponents. That Im sure will get you banned from YouTube." Dang! The climate weirdos are as bad as the Muslims. You dare not insult their religion. You would have thought that Bastardi had drawn a picture of Mohammed or something …

You’re full of it.
The River today is 16 feet, according to the NWS. Not 19 as you say.
Flood stage is 17 feet, not 20 feet.
Eight to 10 inches of rain in 2 hours is not a “little rain storm”.

The United States has a strategic interest in the Port of New Orleans being where it is. This is not just a question of Bourbon Street and vomiting tourists. Please try to understand that.

how does the land sink? The soil is full of water. When the water table drops (through modern drainage pumping) the soil compacts and sinks.

For my information....... how does the land sink? My limited knowledge is that the land under New Orleans is sediment built up as the Mississippi River deposited it over thousands of years. The land is soft, and compacts as time goes by.
There are other reasons. Right now, NASA says it's sinking at a rate of 1.5 inches a year, which seems high to me.
To: Romulus
Thanks for the correction. I must have misread something. I see that it is expected to be 19 ft on Friday.
