The article is wrong. Epstein did not spend 13 months in federal prison. He slept in an annex of the Palm Beach County jail, for 12 hours a night. He was released during the day; everyday. He was also allowed to have his chef prepare his dinner, each night, be eaten in “jail”. I also heard he was allowed champagne, but that might have just been a rumor.
