Britain’s government has told Washington that leaks of memos in which the UK ambassador described U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration as “dysfunctional” were a matter of regret, the Prime Minister Theresa May’s spokesman said on Monday.
The memos from Kim Darroch, the ambassador to Washington, were leaked to a Sunday newspaper, annoying U.S. President Donald Trump and triggering demands on the British side to find out who had disclosed them.
“Contact has been made with the Trump administration setting out our view that we believe the leak in unacceptable. It is, of course, a matter of regret that this has happened,” May’s spokesman told reporters.

Obviously, this ambassador should no longer perform that role, and if anything HMs government should apologize for the content of what he wrote.
That it was LEAKED doesn’t matter. Condemning a leak is not apologizing.

Actually, 5 eyes was created at the end of WWII when HST retired the OSS.
It probably has been useless to us since the USSR disappeared.
Since then, it has enabled the Brits to monitor us at all levels including candidate and President Trump, and any American business trying to keep trade secrets.
The Brits’ survival for centuries has depended on military and financial intel.
Like so many alliances, they often become useless or dangerous or both.
Mr President, why is he still in Washington? To carry it further, shouldn’t our ambassador in London come home for a week or so of “consultations?”

that is the biggest concern! how are diplomatic secrets being released to the press. does that compromise other secrets that may be handled by the same people? This is a real problem of compromise in our intelligence apparatus with the U.K.
Other than that the ambassador is an idiot and should just save time and convert to Islam.
England participated with the ‘Russian connection” in meddling with our election and has tried to cooperate with removing President Trump. As did Australia and Italy.
All should be put on notice.
