A magnitude 7.1 earthquake hit Kern County in California on Friday evening -- just a day after a magnitude 6.4 earthquake that was the largest temblor in the region in two decades, the U.S. Geological Survey confirmed.
Shaking on Friday evening was felt as far away as Las Vegas and Los Angeles and into northern Mexico. The USGS said there was a 5 percent chance a larger quake could still follow.
The newest earthquakes epicenter was about 10 miles north-northeast of Ridgecrest, Calif., about 150 miles northeast of Los Angeles, in the same area where Thursday's quake occurred. The Ridgecrest area has had more than 100 aftershocks since Thursday's earthquake and experts warn there could be more to come.

Run out of the building crouch down
PRECISELY aligned with the edge of the building, where signage and any fascia will fall, then refuse to get up.
This woman is too stupid to live.

California's Office of Emergency Services reported that Gov. Gavin Newsom reached out to the White House on Friday to request presidential disaster relief.Maybe he should just raise the taxes on gas again instead. Seems to work for everything else.

Yes but slowing turning purple due to the influx of socialist illegals from further south.

The first few seconds of an earthquake are spent wondering whether or not you are having a medical/mental emergency. Takes a bit of time to figure out what is going on. If there is someone with you, you look at him as if to say “are you feeling this too?” Then the instinct is to run away. Of course you can’t run away from an earthquake and in a really big one, you can run at all. Cover your head, ride it out and get out of the building when the shaking is done. But time tends to slow down while it is going on. Big quakes are a surreal experience.

Trump should say “drop all sanctary cities and State designations and THEN we will talk.”
These libs believe in State soveregnity only when it fits their politics.

A 7.1 is a pretty significant quake. Hope all are okay.

I feel kind of bad rooting for earthquakes but the right refuses to fight, so whats the alternative?

By the way, I was on Freep last night when I saw the first report; went straight over to drudge - nothing, to Fox, nothing.
As usual Freepers lead the way.

Yep. I stopped one of my coworkers from running during the Loma Prieta quake. Then did an orderly evacuation of the wafer fab.
No injuries, no spilled chemicals, and he dots we put at the end of every crack in the concrete tip-up walls years before made a damage assessment practically instantaneous.
Rocked and rolled pretty good. The central corridor was waving up and down and twisting. Very impressive.

Wow, that’s a pretty big one. We have family in the Central Vally. Nothing heard so far, but we’ll check on them.
FWIW we didn’t feel a thing in NE Florida.
