OSAKA, Japan (AP) — Russian President Vladimir Putin fired a new broadside against Western liberalism at the Group of 20 summit in Japan, saying that policies such as welcoming migrants have hurt people's interests.
Speaking after the summit in Osaka concluded on Saturday, Putin charged that Donald Trump's victory in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and a drop of popularity of traditional parties in Europe have been rooted in growing public dismay with mainstream liberal policies.
He said Trump's election victory was driven by growing disenchantment with liberal policies.
"The liberal idea has started eating itself," Putin said at a news conference. "Millions of people live their lives, and those who propagate those ideas are separate from them."
He also charged that the influx of migrants to Europe has infringed on people's rights. "People live in their own country, according to their own traditions, why should it happen to them?" Putin said.
The Russian leader added that while "liberal ideas remain attractive as a whole," election results show that people want change.
Putin hailed his meeting with Trump on Friday on the sidelines of the G-20 summit as "business-like and pragmatic."
"We addressed almost the entire list of issues of mutual concern," he said. "Of course, we talked about the situation in various parts of the world. Overall, these consultations were useful."
He said the claims of Russian meddling in the U.S. election were part of the agenda of his talk with Trump.
At the start of Friday's meeting, the Russian leader laughed when a reporter shouted about Trump warning Putin "not to meddle" in the 2020 presidential election.
Asked Saturday whether the issue was discussed during the meeting, Putin said that "we talked about it," but didn't elaborate.
He said he believes it's necessary to "turn the page"

How interesting that the Western Nations have succumbed to this fatal and suicidal disease but that the Eastern European Nations have resisted it and promise to soar into ascension as Western Europe sinks into cultural rot and decay!
The scum in the media will drop this issue. It spotlights a split in the Democratic party vote, most of the teet babies of the D-party could do without the fringe. Does a welfare mother really care for white men drag queen story hour at the library? Probably not if it means a sacrifice from her.

1) Simply stating his position on liberalism & migrants.

Eastern Europe is transforming into the Old Eastern Europe, while Eastern Europe is becoming what the old Western Europe once was.

It is more complicated than that but you are generally right. The left is still a force to recon with in the East but it is in opposition mostly.
Because liberalism is a mental disorder. It is immune to logical argument.
Well, I’m sure that the real reason why liberals in the Western nations don’t like present-day Russia is because Putin has opposed the LGBT movement every step of the way.
Liberals believe their mantra "diversity is strength" to be axiomatic - so self-evidently true that it cannot be debated, even if it flies into the face of reality at every moment. You can point out to them that in social circles and the workplace, like-minded people with similar outlooks and cultures tend to get along better than people whose attitudes and worldviews are completely alien to one another, and therefore the same thing applies to societies and nations, but it doesn't matter. When something is dogma, facts don't matter.
The degree to which Eastern Europe has succumbed to the decadence of the West can be measured by the homage paid to the liberal construct of LGBT "pride".
In this regard, the Baltic nations and Ukraine are failing miserably.
Because Eastern Europe has already suffered the cultural disease under Marxism, and has acquired some immunity. Enough??
Understanding a complex problem among people who are on different educational, social, and other levels is an exercise in making the explanation simple as possible in order to get everyone on the same page generally speaking.
