Well, I’m sure that the real reason why liberals in the Western nations don’t like present-day Russia is because Putin has opposed the LGBT movement every step of the way.
Putin has only opposed the bullying tactics that the LGBT movement has used so successfully in the West. It is perfectly legal to be gay in Russia. What gays in Russia aren't allowed to do is bully everyone into bending over to their every demand to destroy cherished traditions and institutions.
