How Roy Moore Could Actually Win Alabama’s Republican Senate Primary
FiveThirtyEight ^ | Live Blog: Women’s World Cup Jun. 20, 2019 | Geoffrey Skelley

Posted on 06/24/2019 10:19:09 AM PDT by Texan4Life

A large primary field may fragment the vote, making it unlikely that a candidate could win a majority and avoid a runoff and making it easier for Moore to advance to a runoff with only the support of his base.

The point is that Moore does have a path — especially a path to a primary runoff if there’s a crowded GOP field. And if he does get there, he would be only one step away from a rematch with Jones.

Moore would still have a decent chance of winning a general election in conservative Alabama, and that is surely a big part of why he’s running again.

He should have known better, but his answer was factually correct.

No, you do not answer a gotcha abortion question the way he answered it.

As I've said, you have no obligation to be fair or forthright with media liars. You tell them what they need to hear, and never say anything they can use to attack you.

Akin made a serious mistake and the media exploited it to ruin him.

To say Moore isn’t fast on his feet is an understatement.

A high school reporter could manipulate him into a blunder.

The Barbour-Cochran Machine RINOs worked to flood the primary runoff with Black Democrat voters to prevent McDaniel’s win. Sickening. No doubt the Shelby Machine in AL used that as a template for the general special.

Moore was no doubt a flawed candidate. Departing the state on election eve to attend a sporting event was puzzling. But regardless the GOP could have pulled him over the line. Even doing nothing was enough given that Jones won by so few votes.

The progressive corportist wing of the GOP that controls the party did not want a conservative “maverick” at all. That should be crystal clear after what they have done to Moore, McDaniel, etc. The GOP establishment fight conservatives far harder than any progressive Democrat.

I believe so, but what Beverly Nelson did to him was done in New York. Gloria Allred is not so stupid as to have tried to do an actionable stunt like that in Alabama.

Nelson and Corfman have nothing in the way of assets, so suing them won't compensate him at all for what they did. Only Allred is worth suing, and as I said, she pulled her big media event in New York, where the libel laws are more tolerant and the jury pool would be completely on her side against Moore.

Moore was impeached for refusing to remove a monument to the Ten Commandments that he had erected in front of the courthouse after a federal judge ruled it violated separation of church and state.

Are you suggesting that a lot of conservative voters in AL voted against Moore because of TV?

Are you kidding? *YES!*

The media-lie-weapon-system manipulated public opinion into believing unproven and unprovable allegations against Roy Moore were true. The media liars portrayed him as a child molesting rapist, and he could not get the same television air time to disprove these claims.

They did the same thing to him that Christie Blassey Ford tried to do with Kavanaugh,

... but the difference was that Kavanaugh had powerful friends in Washington DC who would take up the fight and push back against her, whereas the elite "establishment" in Washington DC hated Moore anyways, and didn't want him in Washington, so they helped the Democrats destroy him.

Resignation over principle is his right & I respect him for it.
However according to Alabamans that I know & who claim familiarity with the situation. (I guess I could research it myself. It should be Alabama public record! For now I am going to assume my friends aren’t full of it!) They say impeachment action/conviction & removal was not over any “gay marriage”. It was over the 10 Commandment disagreement but not the disagreement per se but how he expressed that disagreement. I am told he used illegally “state/court funds” to rebuild, re-enforce, etc. that 10 Commandments monument. Funds that were not legislated to do such a thing. If true that’s theft! And I don’t care if it’s theft in a good cause, it’s still theft! No judge should have anything to do with such an action if he actually respects the law. Again if he true he deserves his impeachment and should not be in the Senate. We have enough thieves there. All claiming they’re stealing for right reasons!

You mean the way AOC answers questions? Or Tlaib or Omar? The difference is, the MSM isn't out to get AOC, but they were out to get Akin to save McCaskill.

They did the same thing to Richard Mourdock and Christine O'Donnell. It doesn't matter that outsider candidates flub a trick question, it matters that they're conservative and not liberal in how the flub is covered.

Akin says abortion should be allowed for "legitimate" rape and he's automatically disqualified and is an "idiot" to you. AOC says American has concentration camps, and suddenly WE have to give up 70 years of OUR understanding of what "concentration camp" means.

Is THAT how you want our candidates to be covered?!? ...because that's how it will continue if you give into it.

Give it up. Moore is a loser. Even Trump doesn’t want him to run. But hey. I guess even Trump’s opinion isn’t conservative enough for this forum.

He wasn’t a “polished” candidate, obviously. Those that are tend to be the ones you don’t want in office. And we’ve already seen what lengths the corrupt party establishment goes to shut out actual Conservative outsiders. Look what they tried to do to Trump.

Dumb@ss Akin helped the media every step of the way...

So did Dumb@ss Chris McDaniel, and so did Dumb@ss Kelly Ward, and so did Dumb@ss Christine O'Donnell, and so did Dumb@ss Joe Miller, and so did Dumb@ss George Allen, and so did Dumb@ss Richard Mourdock, so did Dumb@ss Sharon Angle, and .... are you getting the picture yet?

Funny how all the challengers to Washington DC establishment always get portrayed as Dumb@sses by the New York and Washington DC controlled media, isn't it?

You need to quit believing the crap the media-lie system feeds you. They are part of the Washington spending cartel that makes the Northeaster part of the country rich.

They want liberal democrats in power because *THEY* will spend the money.

The media works against conservative reformers because they threaten the money streams coming out of Washington DC.
