It is accepted though by the executive branch in the U S Constitution whose job is to enforce it.
Who would want to elect someone to write a law when they can’t enforce it?
Moore swore an oath to uphold the law being elected as Chief of the Supreme Court of AL. Moore broke his oath.

And something which would have ruled in his favor if it were before a court today.
Just look at the recent rulings on historical symbols that don't proselytize, like monument crosses, headstone symbols, and Ten Commandment imagery (like what exists in the carvings on the Supreme Court building itself.
