A large primary field may fragment the vote, making it unlikely that a candidate could win a majority and avoid a runoff and making it easier for Moore to advance to a runoff with only the support of his base.
The point is that Moore does have a path especially a path to a primary runoff if theres a crowded GOP field. And if he does get there, he would be only one step away from a rematch with Jones.
Moore would still have a decent chance of winning a general election in conservative Alabama, and that is surely a big part of why hes running again.

Moore cant win.
True. No Senate candidate can win with their own party actively campaigning against them. Fortunately, we are not far away from our primary candidates being selected inside the beltway for us by the GOPe and we won’t have to worry about these little details called primaries.
We aren’t talking AZ but rather AL. Do you think the President
will not support who the people nominate for the next six year term
to serve as US Senator?
I reiterate: Why would Trump some out in support of Moore when he has already come out against him in the primary?
For having what in his background ?
If Alabama is a crossover state, you will get a lot of Republicans who will vote in the Democrat primary next year. Trump will not have any serious primary opponents so his nomination will be a foregone conclusion. Meanwhile, there will be a dozen or so democrats running on the democrat primary and it will be very tempting to cross-over and vote for biggest loser remaining among the democrats.
Sen. Jones is a moonbat. He benefitted from fraud and a fix. Whomever the GOP puts up will win.
You have a nice day. We’ll see what happens as this unfolds.
For what it’s worth I don’t support Moore and never have.
McSally was viewed as a flaky RINO McQueeg copycat. She lost Conservative votes.
Well I’m not convinced she’ll win against Kelly either even though Trump is on the ballot too.
So did Moore. All they have in AL is conservative voters.
Trump was for Strange last time and the people in AL voted Moore instead.
Moore lost.
He’s filed 4 or 5 lawsuits against his accusers already and a suit against someone else for defamation though he dropped one suit.
I don’t know if the pending issues over the professors involved in the cyberattacks on his campaign may interfere in these suits.
Even the ones who have filed sworn affidavits? I doubt it.
That is concerning.
No, Moore lost the squish vote and the RINOs made sure to deliver their votes to Jones and to suppress the vote overall. A disgusting spectacle.
It was probably some deal like "I'll support your Senate candidates if you speed up my judicial confirmations."

Trump erred grievously in backing the corrupt Strange.
Proof?
How’s that? Moore lost.
