Reported cartel drone found near Texas border.

Not only are the cartels weaponizing mass migration to tie down our border agents so they can bring in dangerous people and contraband, they are apparently monitoring the migrant flow in real time with spy drones.

A border agent in the Rio Grande Valley sector informed me that Border Patrol recovered a cartel drone on Sunday that crashed in La Grulla, Texas, near the river. “In the afternoon on June 9, 2019, Border Patrol agents were ‘sign-cutting’ a group of illegals south of the town of La Grulla, TX, when they encountered a drone laying in the brush,” said the veteran Texas agent, who must remain anonymous because he is not authorized to speak to the press. “The lights on the drone were blacked out with electrical tape, so as to not be seen at night. This area has recently seen an influx of illicit trafficking.”

Yep. Chump change for the cartels. The can literally fly them until battery drain and be opening a new one out of the box to take its place.

Disposable surveillance assets.

Thanks for the info and linked.
These drones are going to be a big problem, if they are not already.
It seems that the cameras can surveil the USA without crossing into American air space.
Other than shooting them down, what can be done to stop their spying?

If the drone is carrying drugs, poison the load and leave it where it fell. The mules/distributors/dealers will move it along and a lot of undesirables will end up dead. Drug abuse is a CHOICE; choose badly and you may die.

If one ones a large parcel of land like a farm or ranch I think a drone would be a great way to do security checks of your property.

IR is probably available, not sure. Don’t think mine is.

As far as payload, maybe a large mouse, but not a squirrel.

They advertise this s the ultimate selfie camera. You can program it to recognize an object (person) and follow it as it moves. As in, get a video of yourself running, biking, driving, etc. Can follow and keep in frame from rear, side, front, etc.

The military uses a similar size drone to look on rooftops, around corners, over fences, etc. They have the ability to climb quite high, as in thousands of feet.
