Sacramento police appeared to struggle to get cooperation from bystanders Wednesday evening while cordoning off the scene of a shootout that led to the death of one of their own.
A video posted to Twitter by Matthew Keys, a digital editor at Comstock's Magazine, appears to capture neighborhood residents shouting back at officers....
“The only person we need to be safe from is you,” another woman off camera is heard shouting.
“Hey, stray bullets catch people, man,” the officer responds.
Another voice behind the camera berates a cop for wearing a gun, repeatedly calling him a “coward.”
“Take that gun off. I’ll whoop your little butt,” the woman says. “All y’all cowards.”
“We know they are,” says the first one.
“Y’all cowards. We got guns too,” another voice says.

Disturbing is the word. How can anyone possibly deal with such militant women? They are not fearless. They are ignorant and downright stupid. They have been created by a society who tells them they are cheated, abused, disrespected and deserving of better. The truth is much more disturbing than we can imagine. They know enough to know hard work is the only way out for some and for others they don’t have the ability for much.
The only thing we can pray for more of is wisdom. Our smarts are given from birth and some don’t have them. How terrible would it be to know that and to know your pathway to success is hindered by that and that you will have to find some other way? The good news is that for most the pathway to success is not blocked in this country.
Opportunity is available for all but outcome is not given.

The ACLU should take that up. It would probably force the department to close. That's just too bad; the tyrants with badges should have known better.
I can assure you cops in Cal big cities including Sacto are not receiving “ridiculously low pay.” And they have the best retirement pension in the country starting at age 50.

That often happens and the charges are usually BS like stand alone charges of obstruction or resisting arrest (absent a PC for the arrest).
Those charges are sometimes called ‘contempt of cop’ charges.
And it’s charges like that that earn the cops the taunts and the contempt.
Seriously, if someone can’t handle being taunted then they should not be trusted with a gun let alone authority.
I agree, policing models are wrong. This is due imo to political forces and asking cops to do too many different tasks.
Yeah, you are right about the changing perception about cops. I did ride-alongs with cops before, they were buddies. Now they are insular and remote. Unfortunately that is by the design of evil people. You know you can’t qualify for law enforcement if you score too high on IQ for one thing. Listen to a cop speak...
I, too, know why guys like to be cops... But you notice the sudden silence when this is brought up for discussion? You see this same phenomena in HR departments, HOA’s, school boards., the Bad drive out the Good.

I am upper middle class. Part of that hated top 5-10 percent. (I wish 1 percent). I don’t like the police. I can’t think of any situation where the make it better. Granted I’m 50+. Revenue agents that take 8 or more hours to show up to a property crime scene they don’t even try to solve. I don’t get it. I dont need a speeding/stop sign ticket and a FU on property crime call. Popo are worthless money sinks, arrogant POS, over paid high school asshats imho.
I knew society and police were screwed 30 years ago when my straight laced, never done nothing close to wrong mom got nervous when police pulled out behind her because revenue from traffic tickets were more important. She would pull into side streets, drive ways ... to avoid police. That’s what she saw them as. Pathetic.
