Impeachment, as a political weapon, is NOT what the framers/founders had in mind.

This is getevenism for the impeachment of Bill Clinton.

While I (partisanly) applauded it at the time, in retrospect, I wonder if it was such a good idea.

“High crimes”? A perjury trap? I’m not so sure now. We’ve now gone from that, to a no crimes AT ALL standard!

I detest the idea of “Don’t make the Democrats mad cause when they get back in power....”, but

In the Clinton impeachment case, that becomes a truism.

Since when is it partisan to attempt to punish those who break the law ?

If Clinton could have kept his ego and libido in check, he would of never have (rightly) been impeached.

It’s “Don’t give the Democrats ideas and tools you don’t want used against you.”

The Clinton impeachment was stupid in so many ways. It was asinine and at least temporarily cemented the image of Republicans as annoying, nitpicking, prurient, pearl clutching nattering church ladies, turning many voters off. And most importantly, there was zero chance of getting a conviction PLUS the Republicans were completely unable to use it in the media to browbeat Clinton with it. It was totally pointless.

DOMA was another mistake. The power to regulate is the power to destroy.

Peaceful transition of power from Democrat to Republican ended 59 years ago. Kennedy stole an election. Democrats wanted Nixon impeached in his first term (long before “Watergate”). Democrats wanted to block Ronald Reagan’s inauguration, wanted him impeached before Iran-Contra. Democrats wanted GHWBush investigated and removed. They twice denied GWBush’s election night victory and Trump’s election night victory. They wanted GW Bush impeached in his first term and prosecuted as a war criminal in his second term. They wanted to block Donald Trump’s inauguration and weaponized agencies against the President as Obama was leaving the office setting dumpster fires to derail in the incoming president.

Clinton's impeachment was based, not on his disgusting behavior with Monica, but on his perjury, which denied Paula Jones her justice under law.

It was not just a good idea, it was required by law.

klintoon was guilty of perjury, suborning perjury, bribery, and all kinds of illegal acts with the chinese.

The sonofabitch should have been convicted but the pubbies were gutless.
