During an appearance on CNN’s SE Cupp Unfiltered, Democrat presidential hopeful Eric Swalwell made clear he has a plan for handguns he will pursue after AR-15s are confiscated.
Cupp began the segment on Saturday with Swalwell by telling him she appreciates the fact that he is one of the few leftist candidates who admits he plans to take away an entire category of firearms.
Cupp pointed out that “assault weapons” are involved in “less that five percent of gun murders” in America. She then asked Swalwell why he is “stopping at ‘assault weapons’ …and not confiscating handguns, which account for the vast majority of gun deaths.”
Swalwell made clear he also has a plan for handguns, but he is focused on getting rid of “assault weapons” first.

Statista.com says 403 murders with rifles as the tool, out of over 15,000 total homicides in statistical base year 2017. That is <2.7% for ALL types of rifles. I’d guess “Assault Rifles” including semi-auto cousins, account for <1%, which might seem a lot to a Presidential candidate polling about 0.0001%. Knives were the weapon in 4x as many cases as any type of rifle.
When Democrats are elected, insane anti-American dingbats like this one WILL ruin America!

This has always been the goal. Ban one item, build on that to ban others.
Fifty years ago they were screaming for registration and bans on cheap Saturday Night Special handguns. “Rifles will not be affected!”
Then they demanded a ban on all handguns. Again...”We ONLY want to ban handguns. Rifles will not be affected!”

A few years later, Josh Sugarmann wrote his diatribe against military style semi-auto rifles as being easier to ban, because they looked like machine guns, and the entire news media along with anti-gun politicians jumped on the anti-rifle bandwagon, somethting they had always said they would NEVER do.
What next...rocks, hammers, knives, scissors, fists, darts,.....???

I saw an article about confiscating semi-automatic guns in New Zealand. Out of an estimated 300,000 guns only a handful had been turned in. The article indicated that gun owners were just waiting for the amount of “buy back” they can get. With all the socialists running for President there is no amount of money that can buy mine.

IOW..if you have a Glock 37..in very good condition..bot thru a dealer...and I have the same we "sell" each other's gun to each other. A private sell...And now...I know longer own that gun...and you no longer own the gun you "sold" to me.
I own many guns....that were inherited..with no paper trail. I'm quite sure..I'm not alone.

1. Identify who possess semi-auto rifles (it won't be a complete list, but it will be huge) by creating a National Firearm Registry (seizing of ATF-4473 forms and FBI NICBS records).
2. Pass Comprehensive Background Checks - forbids private transfer of firearms between private citizens.
3. Ban sale/ possession of all semi-auto rifles using 5.56 mm, .308 cal., .30 cal., and 9 mm.
4. Ban sale/possession of 5.56 mm ammo and all magazines with > 5-round capacity.
5. Set voluntary surrender date of the above specified semi-auto rifles. Announce that the IRS will seize/freeze assets of those not in compliance after the drop dead date.
6. Selectively identify some hard cases to present them as examples to the nation after the drop dead date. Send the federal brown shirts to their doors. This will intimidate many while simultaneously enraging others.

There aren’t enough cops, Military or NG to do it, and they won’t comply either. The casualties would be enormous.
Yet. A NFR will identify those who bought semi-auto military caliber rifles during the Obama years.
