The Internet has enabled the flourishing of countless subcultures, from the harmless to the less so. Lately, one of the latter groups has begun to break into the mainstream: the “incels.”
“Incel” is short for “involuntary celibate,” and as their self-imposed name implies, these mostly young men have come to define themselves by their inability to find a sexual or romantic partner. Men who identify as being #ForeverAlone have gathered online in forums such as Reddit to trade stories of woe.
These communities tend to be self-reinforcing. Members believe that their looks or personal traits have consigned them to lifelong loneliness, and similarly downbeat peers are always willing to add more fuel to that fire. And the incel community has developed elaborate, and elaborately misogynistic, theories to blame others for their plight, centered on the idea that women are shallow, stupid and cruel — exclusively choosing only a handful of the most attractive men to be with and disdaining the rest. All men should deserve a chance with women, incels tell themselves, but some men have all the luck, while they get left out.
Today, the incel subculture has become not just self-reinforcing but self-radicalizing, often with tragic outcomes. At its most horrifying extremes, self-described incels have taken their anger out on the women they believe are refusing them. At least two mass shooters have left behind manifestos identifying themselves as adhering to incel ideology and explaining their actions as taking revenge on the world that hasn’t given them the women they think they deserve.

My biggest recommendation: Look outside of the US for a solid Christian woman.
Nobody heard of incels until that nut ran over people in Canada. It is now just a slur used indiscriminately by the left against right-wingers, just like “neocon” and “alt-right” before it. Don’t waste too much time debating the lives of “incels.” It’s just revenge for the success of the term “cuck.”
You would think that they would take the opportunity to commiserate with each other and buck each other up, rather than plot killing sprees.
Well, there’s your “macho” alpha males on one end of the spectrum. And there’s your metrosexual beta bitch boys on the other.
What about the regular guys in between?
I’m in my early 60s, so this whole issue has become moot for me now. Being a lifelong bachelor has its compensations — like not having to worry about being dragged into family court by a vengeful ex-spouse. The daily helping of peace and quiet grows on you as well.
Still, human nature is what it is. And female hypergamy can’t be denied. Women only want the top 20 percent of men, more or less. If you look good and have money, you’ve got a shot.
I consider my lack of success with women had a lot to do with my scholarly personality. Girls in their 20s just weren’t interested in the latest history books I had been reading. And by the time I was in my 30s, I was working six-day weeks and just grateful to have Sunday to crash and get ready to start it all over again. There wasn’t time, money, or energy to pursue women.
But if the gay boys can say “that’s who I am,” well shouldn’t a straight guy with bookish propensities be allowed the same privilege? At least I’m not likely to catch an STD from all the World War II books in my house.

The term “incel” was apparently invented years ago by a Canadian woman (who was involuntarily celibate, of course). She started an internet group for people like her (both guys and girls) to talk to each other. So incel was a quite innocent term at first.
However, the term has come to describe a subset of the lovelorn who are hateful and misogynistic and occasionally go on murderous rampages. That’s why, even though I have not had female companionship seemingly in aeons, I prefer to call myself a bachelor, since “incels” now seems to describe just another hate group.
Incels have always been around.
People used to mock them because obnoxious people with repulsive personalities being unable to have casual sex is a good thing.
Please describe what you are calling “real women.”

Personally, I have no use for most women-I refuse to work with them and I have only one female friend-the rest of my friends are men-always have been, even when I was a kid-I find most women dishonest, deceptive, greedy and self absorbed-they want a willing victim of a man-one they can use and control- and can’t handle a fine cowboy/macho man who won’t walk on a leash...
Around here, the phrase cowboy up means to suck it up in general-and where directed at guys, it means take your cojones out of whatever lockbox they are in and act like a real man instead of a wuss soyboy.
I have never brought a single legal or financial liability to my man’s table-I’m an equal-brought up by my parents to be self sufficient and to bring an income/assets to a partnership-not liabilities. But then I’m not any man’s shack job or bootie call, either-I require the same respect I give to a man-without mutual trust and respect, there can’t be a relationship worth having...

Years ago women dated from amoung the men in their town. Most guys had a chance to find a quality girl and both could foster relationships maturely in an environment where both of their reputations were on the line.
Now women have dating apps, and can show it all off on video chat sites or on social media, and get a bunch of “alphas” to toss cash and prizes at them for a peek down her shirt.
Now every female can “date” a man that is anywhere on the planet without having to limit themselves with actually being with one guy, or even having to be in the same time zone. She just has to flash her... eyes, use the baby voice, and some moron with more cash than brains, will make it rain.
The average 20-something guy that is moral, hard-working, or family-oriented, but not rich or built like a truck, is SOL.
They have no idea what to do, so they end up becoming resentful. To an extent, justifiably so.

Taking their GFs from them is easier than ever. I went to go pick up a playmate last year... at his place... and he hid under the covers... even though I never made any sort of a movement or word against him. I'm not exactly big or intimidating. I'm mostly a nerd. He just knew that he didn't want me to see him. Again, I was picking up HIS girlfriend... at HIS house... and only a unmitigated moron... or someone desperate to stay self-deluded... wouldn't know that we were hooking up.

On the flip side, we have what I guess we could cal vocels - voluntary celibates: MGTOW. Sprung from Red Pill. These are men who have learned today’s American women’s true nature and are avoiding them, for financial safety and for their sanity.
I see incels as the sad result of feminist-influenced upbringing. Many were likely raised by just their mommy. I’d also guess they probably feel like they hate Trump, but secretly wish he was their Dad.
There are several factors at work here. First, both sides have unrealistic expectations for what they think their partners should look like. Second, the media has spent the past 20-plus years portraying men as bumbling idiots, so women are less likely to be actively looking for partners, because they don’t want to end up with a dud. Third, popular culture has told women that they have no responsibilities, so there are many young women who have become shallow and self-centered. It has become a major gamble for young men to get into relationships, because they are risking their future wealth by doing so. Fourth, the current state of the culture, with video games, smart phones, and other entertainment, has resulted in far fewer opportunities for both sexes to develop appropriate social skills. Girls are naturally more social, but tend to stay in groups of girls, and so rarely interact with the few boys who aren’t at home playing XBox. Boys don’t even have that level of interaction; their main social contact is swearing at strangers in online games. Fifty years ago, both sexes would be going out on the town as their only entertainment, where they would build same-sex peer groups and would regularly come in contact with the opposite sex outside of controlled environments like school.
With all of these hurdles, it is no wonder the sexes have drifted so far apart. Some of these are fixable. Some cannot be fixed without major cultural changes.
With the proliferation of whores, sluts and STD’s in today’s young-people culture being an incel isn’t necessarily a derogatory term.
