Nobody heard of incels until that nut ran over people in Canada. It is now just a slur used indiscriminately by the left against right-wingers, just like “neocon” and “alt-right” before it. Don’t waste too much time debating the lives of “incels.” It’s just revenge for the success of the term “cuck.”
The term “incel” was apparently invented years ago by a Canadian woman (who was involuntarily celibate, of course). She started an internet group for people like her (both guys and girls) to talk to each other. So incel was a quite innocent term at first.
However, the term has come to describe a subset of the lovelorn who are hateful and misogynistic and occasionally go on murderous rampages. That’s why, even though I have not had female companionship seemingly in aeons, I prefer to call myself a bachelor, since “incels” now seems to describe just another hate group.
