A 17-year-old Dutch girl was legally allowed to kill herself using euthanasia after she was raped at age 14 and spent years battling depression, according to a report Tuesday.

Not always. Depression can often be caused by a traumatic/tragic event. Trauma alters the brain.
All she needed was D3 supplements. Sunshine would be better but the sun angle at that latitude makes sunshine only strong enough for three months. Sunshine/vitamin D is the best, really the only treatment for clinical depression to mild “winter blahs.” Xanax etc only mask the problem by suppressing feelings altogether. I have seen the supps and dedication to getting sunshine daily work on three people over the last ten years, one of them my daughter. I have watched manic depression become a normal happy nature just by getting sunshine on the skin every day. I told Trang (in VN) she had to get sunshine and quit wrapping up to hide from the Sun when she went out. She did. I am now credited by her family and her husband’s family for saving her life as her M/D was getting progressively more severe. MD and depression is common in VN for women because they have heard from birth their mamas say, “Don’t let the sun touch your skin or you will turn black and never get a husband.” Depression induced suicide is more common there than it need by among young women.
My understand is Depression is triggered by the event. It already existed prior to the event.
But you treat Depression with medication and therapy, not suicide.
For some reason that story really disturbed me more than the average social decay news story you see every day. These lunatics think they are so enlightened when they have gone off the deep end. It’s truly mad.

Once the government is responsible for the cost of your care, it is a simple business decision to kill the chronically ill. It would be irresponsible with the taxpayer’s money to not kill them!
The government of the Netherlands was looking at $Millions for lifelong care for this woman. You don’t think the money entered into the decision?
I’m reading this on my phone while I wait for a price on a new muffler. I don’t have much money so I was really dreading what I was going to hear up until I just read this. How sad and horrid.
I think this was in the 1.0 sanger works. But it looks like 2.0. Some girls move on and some stay under the weight of evil.
On the other hand, most of us will be killed off and not die in nursing homes by the fish bowl.
For those that have a family history. Others are traumatized by an event that did not have a family history.

Definitely agree on this. A permanent solution to a temporary condition. But as I stated previously, trauma alters the brain and to many who have suffered severe trauma, suicide becomes rational.

‘And spent years’ - from 14 to 17. That is not ‘years’ except when measured by teenagerhood. Honestly, could nobody talk to this child? Could nobody hang the perp?
And to think how many people persevered in the 40s during occupation, oppression, and starvation because they valued life more than they hated suffering.
It was startling to read about a government even crazier than that of the state of New Jersey.
It would have at least made some sense if she had been granted license to hunt down and slaughter her rapist; suicide IS lunacy.

When children are raped they suffer serious physical damage. Sometimes it results in chronic pain.

My guess is she was not sufficiently protected from the new immigrants or Muslims, and not openly supported by her own people.
Such PC related Selective Blindness is now common in many parts of Europe and many parts of the United States.
Some may say “Move away, then. Find someplace safer!”
It’s not always easy or even realistic to just pack up and go. Go where, living off what funds until you get employed?
People of her mother’s generation did not grow up expecting to deal with such serious, sweeping and negative changes. Their societies have been prosperous and relatively peaceful until only recently. Until only what? 15 years ago?

Or... spent three years battling depression. Wasted life. Bad things, horrible things, have happened to millions of people... but you move forward and make a life.
This is the result of no Christianity, poor parenting, and mental health professionals swarming around her at 14 and carefully explaining how she will never be the same, that she will always have PTSD, and encouraging her to wallow in her feelings twice a week for years, go to group sessions...etc etc.
Better off to not keep talking about it.
Sounds like a lotta people failed her. From the jerks who let the moslems into the country, to the parents, to the people who chased away christianity, to the mental health pros.
