Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) on Sunday said Democrats who support impeaching President Trump should “buy a spine” and do it.
But he also said they'd regret it, pointing to polls that show a minority of voters back impeachment.
“Impeachment polls right up there with skim milk with the American people. But my advice to my Democratic friends is, if you want to do it, go hard or go home,” Kennedy said CBS’ “Face the Nation” Sunday. “Go to Amazon, buy a spine. If you’re not going to do it, let us get back to work.”

Democrats are coming under rising pressure to consider impeaching Trump.
Special counsel Robert Mueller last week in his first public remarks on his two-year probe said that if his office was confident Trump had not committed a crime, “we would have said so."
He also said it would not have been possible for his team to bring charges against Trump because of Justice Department guidance that forbids doing so with a sitting president.
Kennedy said he wasn't terribly interested in Mueller's testimony, because he said the special counsel would likely just point to his report.
The Louisiana senator did echo some other Republicans in offered support for investigating the origins of the probe. He said he wanted to know the effect investigations of both Trump and his 2016 opponent, Hillary Clinton , had had on the election.
He suggested it was possible that a “small handful of people acted on their beliefs” and might have affected the campaign through their investigation.

David Schippers was asked by his friend, Congressman Henry Hyde, to be Chief Investigative Counsel for the US House Judiciary Committee. Schippers, a lifelong Democrat, accepted and took the job in April 1998. The Hyde Committee was holding an inquiry on whether Clinton had committed impeachable offences in his handling of the Paula Jones sexual harassment suit..... during which Clinton committed perjury regarding his affair with Monica Lewinsky. The committee in December 1998 voted to impeach Clinton........a decision supported by Schippers.
On December 10, 1998, Schippers said to the committee:
“The President, then,

<><> he lied under oath in a criminal grand jury.
<><> he lied to the people,
<><> he lied to his Cabinet,
<><> he lied to his top aides,
“And now he’s lied under oath to the Congress of the United States.There’s no one left to lie to.”
Upon the passage of H. Res. 611, Clinton was impeached on December 19, 1998, by the House of Representatives on grounds of perjury to a grand jury (by a 228–206 vote) and obstruction of justice (by a 221–212 vote).
The Senate voted not to remove the impeached president.

It’s also useful to remember that the Republican Senate essentially refused to conduct a trial. They had one person asked a few questions and then they said okay we’re done.
Perhaps the Republicans could follow their own advice and shop for some spines at Amazon

There is no doubt that the liberals would give their first born child to get Trump impeached. But there is also no doubt they haven’t been able to get any evidence to do so. So they continue to hunt so they can try the POTUS in the court of public media. This, at this point, has been proven not to have anything to do with criminal activity. If it had, they would have knocked each other out of the way to spread the news and display the evidence. And they are fighting for air time to make that claim.
So they will continue to make it until someone, like the voters, tells them enough is too much and they are wasting the voter’s time and money on this. The questions should be asked, “Why aren’t you being as diligent on protecting our country from intruders including terrorists. Why aren’t you working on improving our lives the way we want them through listening to your constituents and getting ideas to help us. (And try to remember, you are not King George and don’t rules us)
Thus until the house and the senate do the job they were elected to do, and we let them, they will continue to play these silly political games instead of what we need. Make it interesting in 2020. Instead of concerning themselves with getting Trump out, make it a concern for them to keep themselves in. Let them know they don’t have to work so hard doing nothing productive while they look for lobbying jobs which is what they are actually qualified for and by now have a good resume. Let them use it, vote them out. And start now telling them you are going to do it. It might keep them occupied. (Kind of like a flashlight with a cat)

David Shippers, I remember him! He was the only democrat who supported the truth while the rest of them tried to portray it as “just about sex”..”Oh they are impeaching him just because he had sex”. To this day they say that. Almost 30 years this country has been putting up with the BS of the Clinton crime family, and today it’s worse than ever. Look at the huge amount of trouble that effin’ b*tch has caused because she didn’t get her way and win the POTUS election. What really really ticks me off is she sat on her fat ass her entire campaign while Trump was out there 7 days a week putting in 18 to 20 hour days, doing countless interviews, holding sometimes an incredible FOUR rallies a DAY. He won by massive hard work while she sat on her butt, and she has the GALL to go around and play victim and claim Trump won because of the Russians? To HELL with her! Wow! A democrat Freeper! What ever happened to him? I would imagine today they would throw him out of the party. I remember him saying “Bill Clinton has lied to everybody, there’s no one left to lie to” LOL! So true!
He died of pancreatic cancer last fall. He was a man of uncompromising integrity. Here is a short article about him.
