Confirmed: U.S. Attorney John Huber never started the ‘Spygate’ probe Sessions assigned to him
The National Sentinel ^ | 5/31/19 | Jon Dougherty

You may recall that about a year into failed Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ tenure with the Trump administration he rebuffed several calls from members of Congress to appoint a U.S. attorney ‘outside the Beltway’ to investigate abuses by the Obama regime and the 2016 Clinton campaign regarding “Spygate.”

That attorney, John Huber of Utah, was supposedly a ‘special prosecutor in all but name,’ Sessions said at the time. He claimed Huber will be using all of “his prosecutorial powers” to conduct a wide-ranging investigation into alleged abuses that extend well beyond suspected FISA court improprieties.

“I am confident that Mr. Huber’s review will include a full, complete, and objective evaluation of these matters in a manner that is consistent with the law and the facts,” Sessions announced in late March 2018.

And then…crickets.

Let’s be honest, the one area where Trump has not been strong are his appointments. Sessions was probably the worst but I think Wray might be just as bad or worse. Sessions played the part of the good little soldier to gain Trump’s trust and then stuck a shiv in his back.

Trump has had slim pickings from which to choose from.

Many good people don’t want to put up with the hassle. So he’s mainly stuck with Deep Staters, but over time that will change, but he had to fill those positions somehow.

Interesting. I’ll never forgive Jeff Sessions for enabling and protecting (intentionally or through ineptness) a coup that stole two years and counting of Trump’s presidency but I didn’t know that Trump found Stephen Miller through Sessions. So at least one lasting good thing came from that disaster.

The ongoing High Crimes of DC and its agencies is beyond obvious. Our fathers would be carrying pitchforks into town, long time ago...

Barr said that Huber has been inactive.
Really? Where?
WILLIAM BARR: Right, so Huber had originally been asked to take a look at the FISA applications and the electronic surveillance but then he stood back and put that on hold while the Office of Inspector General was conducting its review, which would've been normal for the department. And he was essentially on standby in case Mr. Horowitz referred a matter to him to be handled criminally. So he has not been active on this front in recent months and so Durham is taking over that role. The other issues he's been working on relate to Hillary Clinton. Those are winding down and hopefully we'll be in a position to bring those to fruition.

He didn't say he has been inactive. What part of "other issues he's been working on" do you not understand?

Barr said that Huber's role is done.

Wouldn't he be "done" when things are completed and not just "winding down"?

And guess what! Dunham is going to be on standby for Horowitz just like Huber was until the IG report is done!

Wray was recommended by Chris Christie. We dodge a bullet when Trump decided Christie had no direct role on his cabinet but he did get that one disastrous recommendation in. I hope it's the last thing he ever recommends.

By the way, Ann Coulter loved Romney and Christie and trashes Trump viciously so we now know she was a gigantic phony all those years. Just throwing that in, since Christie came up.

Here is the kicker!
Dunham, just like Huber, can go on investigating other things!

Huber has not impaneled a Grand Jury or spoken to any witnesses that were before congress. Congress has submitted multiple criminal referrals. No action has been taken on these.

A lot of the criminal referrals were slam dunk. Recorded lies to Congress, illegal leaking, etc. Nothing. Hell, Comey illegally leaked (to get a special counsel) and admitted to this under oath in front of millions of people. Nada damn thing is being done about.

The criminal referral for McCabe is not moving forward according to OIG.

Who were they submitted to? AG Barr? Your point?

Link please. Show me, don't tell me.

I think Trump was forced by Rino’s and Reince and probably Ryan and McConnell to appoint Sessions or else he wouldn’t get their support in Congress on anything he wanted to try and pass. Wray was and is really bad appointment.

Wouldn't he be "done" when things are completed and not just "winding down"?

Perhaps.

But Barr did answer that Huber's role is done on the Clinton matter, unless he was referring to the first subject which was the FISA matter.

(transcript excerpt)

Several points.

If Huber is still involved with the Clinton matter, and that matter is "winding" down, then what exactly will come to fruition in a matter that is "winding down" after 18 months of no indictments?

Despite many here claiming that Huber was working on the FISA matter, Barr is telling us that Huber was told to stand down from that matter 14 months ago.

Who knows! I guess we'll all find out at the same time when it has wound down, won't we.

We can bitch and moan together if nothing comes to fruition. Until then I'm simply getting on with life.
