AOC says only a 'sea sponge' would believe her '12 years' doomsday remark, but most Dems bought it

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s claim that the world will “end in 12 years” unless climate change is tackled was accepted as a fact by two-thirds of Democrats, even though she said herself that only those with the “social intelligence of a sea sponge” could actually believe it.

The New York Democrat drew mockery from Republicans after she made the doomsday warning in a bid to convince people that radical action against climate change is needed.

“Millennials and people, you know, Gen Z and all these folks that will come after us are looking up and we’re like: ‘The world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it?'” Ocasio-Cortez said. A few months later she repeated the claim again.

Earlier this month, however, Ocasio-Cortez backtracked on the gloomy forecast and instead blamed the Republican Party for taking her humor and sarcasm literally.

"This is a technique of the GOP, to take dry humor + sarcasm literally and 'fact check' it," she wrote.

But it appears that more than two-thirds of surveyed Democrats took her literally.

A Rasmussen poll, conducted earlier this week, found 67 percent of Democrats believing that the U.S. has only 12 years to avert the “disastrous and irreparable damage to the country and the world” stemming from climate change. Out of all total likely voters, 48 percent of respondents believed the apocalyptic claim.

Now the stunning details about that FEC complaint:

The FEC complaint asserts that AOC’s COS, Saikat Chakrabarti, early on established two PACs that raised big bucks for AOC’s campaign:
<><> the “Brand New Congress PAC,” and,
<><> the “Justice Democrats PAC.”

After mucho money was raised, Chakrabarti systematically transferred $885,000+ in PAC contributions to his private companies with similar names:
<><> the “Brand New Campaign LLC,” and,
<><> the “ Brand New Congress LLC.”

Saikat Chakrabarti’s private companies, unlike PACs, are exempt from reporting all of their significant expenditures.

NOTE WELL: it’s a much-used criminal act to enrich oneself, to open bank accounts using similarly named
entities to siphon off money, to hide it from partners, associates, investors etc.

SIPHONINGS A CINCH It’s easy to siphon off money for oneself by putting checks into the new accounts with similar names, depositing checks that were made out to
the original entity. Even your bank advises that if a check-writer “mis-spelled” your name, to just endorse the check with the correct name.

AND PRESTO: a check made out to Brand New Congress PAC, is deposited in the Brand New Congress LLC account.

ANALYSIS -— Chakrabarti’s companies appear to have been set up for the sole purpose of obscuring how AOC’s donations were used. The arrangement skirted reporting requirements and may have violated the $5,000 limit on contributions, according to the FEC complaint filed by the National Legal and Policy Center, a government watchdog group.

Campaign finance attorneys described the arrangement as “really weird” and an indication “there’s something amiss.” They said there was no way of telling where the political donations went — meaning (A) the donations could have been pocketed, or, (B) used by the LLC’s to pay for off-the-books campaign operations.-—SNIP-—SOURCED FROM FR.

Barack Obama has heeded calls to help secure the future of the historic Paris agreement by transferring a second $500m instalment to the Green Climate Fund, just three days before he leaves office.

The money $500M tax dollars is being drawn from the state department, the same way that the first transfer was,
allowing it to be done using executive powers without congressional support.

The fund was a key aspect of the Paris agreement signed in 2015, which aims to keep global warming “well below” 2C and aspires to keep warming to 1.5C. Established in 2010, it is financed by wealthy countries and used to assistdeveloping countries with adaptation and mitigation. It was widely seen as a key measure to bring both rich and poor countries to the negotiating table.

The US committed to transferring $3bn to the fund. The new instalment leaves $2bn owing, with the incoming president, Donald Trump, expected to cease any further payments. The move followed a large campaign, with more than 100 organisations and nearly 100,000 people calling for Obama to transfer the full $2.5bn owed to the fund.

“The Obama administration is refusing to let president-elect Trump’s posse of oil barons and climate deniers dictate how the world responds to the climate crisis,” said Tamar Lawrence-Samuel, of Corporate Accountability International, which led the campaign.

“Tens of thousands of people around the world called on President Obama to step up before Trump takes the keys of our government and tries to reverse decades of climate progress,” she said. “This victory is the climate justice movement’s opening salvo to the Trump presidency. And we’re not going away.”

Just a couple of weeks ago, my DH and I attended the Maker Faire in San Mateo, CA. It’s an interesting exhibition of people and companies that make cool stuff, with a heavy emphasis on everyday technology. Lots of Silicon Valley people attend who are considered curious and intelligent. We passed by a speaker on one of the stages who was talking about the “fact” that we have about 12 years to go before the earth is uninhabitable.

I just shook my head and thought “the fear programming to sell a product or induce panic amongst supposedly smart and not so smart people is strong.” Thanks AOC and the Globalist idiots who brought us Climate Change to drum up more tax dollars and keep the populace afraid.

Think about it, she’s 30. Trump loses in 2020 when she’s 32, she won’t defeat an incumbant, she’ll have to wait till 2028 when she’s 39. The world ends 2031, if history continues, she’ll be in office at the end of the world. In I think may be the likely event President Trump wins a second term, she’s still waiting till 2024. Gives her two years to win a second term, to preside over the death of the planet. From warming. How can you make a movie about the world ending over warming. I won’t begin to mention the end of the world movies, we usually win, global warming movie starring AOC won’t make it.
