With the messy Brexit process having doomed British Prime Minister Theresa Mays leadership, the person most likely to take over for her, fulfilling his lifelong ambition, is Boris Johnson, the former British foreign secretary whom President Donald Trump calls a friend.
Johnson is a favorite both among Conservative members of Parliamentand the bookmakersto succeed May, whose government he quit last year in protest over her Brexit plans. The upper-class former London mayor, a leading Brexiteer, is to his fans an eccentric, affable character who embodies the essence of British identity.
To his critics, Johnson is a shameless, malleable, and gaffe-prone opportunist who seeks power as an end in itself. And to Trump, Johnson is a friend who would make a good prime minister, having said as much during his U.K. visit last July.
May, who is deeply unpopular, could resign by Sunday after what is expected to be a disastrous performance for her Conservative Party in the European parliamentary elections on Thursday. Both those who voted to remain in the European Union and those who backed leaving it have fled to rival parties.

Ping.
Boris should have taken the job in the first place ,the UK would be Free by now

Boris might *might* be able to rescue the Tories given some time....
This writer doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Boris Johnson is deeply unpopular among Conservative MPs, even despised.
with friends like these...
A lot of people were wrong on Trump, and came around and saw the errors of their ways, Boris is one of them.
Will he be able to reverse the headlong rush to sharia that is overtaking the UK?
I don't know enough about UK politics to know how this would occur but it would certainly be a wonderful turn of events if it became a reality.
I’m afraid that horse is way out of the barn
Well they better suck it up before they get PM Jeremy Corbyn and a second rigged referendum
I wish I could be as quick to forgive and forget. These people weren’t just against Trump personally, they were against all of his supporters.
Maybe he can start to roll back the tide of fascism that has engulfed the country and colonies such as Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
