What a pond full of minnows.

When your party/base/electorate are obsessed with bizarre trifles, you get bizarre, trifling candidates.

I think most of them are in the race for the campaign contributions generated.
Yeah, can’t mix campaign and private expenditures.
Ok, Let’s buy an SUV or two, a new office, proper clothing, ‘for the campaign’. Plane trips, fact finding tours w/ wife. What a joke.

Oh, and restaurants on business expense.

I think fully half of these yahoos are in it for the national stage and name exposure. Just getting their ticket punched for future endeavors.

Yep. Easy money. And a jackpot if you actually win.

AGAIN:

KAMALA HARRIS IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO BE PRESIDENT OR TO HOLD ANY POSITION THAT CAN SUCCEED PRESIDENT.

NEITHER OF HER PARENTS WERE USA CITIZENS WHEN SHE WAS BORN HERE.

SHE IS AN ANCHOR BABY-—NOTHING MORE.

These people are vicious little animals. They may play all nice and cozy with each other when they have common enemies: the USA, American taxpayers, Conservatives and President Trump, but the gloves are going to come off sometime soon. Some might just fade away when their money runs out and they find they can’t fill a high school gym or a senior citizen center. But the ones that make it to later on this year and into next year are going to be effin’ vicious.

And it’s going to be awesome.

People like Klobuchar and Gillibrand seriously don’t expect to win anything.

I think they do it 1) for money, and 2) to simply increase name recognition and burnish their political/leftist bona fides.

...Just for comparison, In 2016....

And in May 2015, Jeb Bush was probably the leader, though a lot of FReepers liked Santorum and Walker. They also thought that Trump running was a publicity stunt.

Maybe I’m wrong, but shouldn’t Donald Trump be on that list?

The list missed Ben Gleib & Ami Hotowitz!

I remember the early stage of the 2016 campaign. We thought it was a ridiculously large field at the time!

Then Trump entered the race and almost overnight, dominated the race from that point in. Right from the very start, Trump was drawing huge, enthusiastic crowds wherever he went.

The Democrats have nobody with that kind of star power this cycle. Their front-runner Joe Biden draws Jeb Bush type crowds. In fact, Biden is shaping up to be the Jeb Bush of the 2020 cycle.

There’s a thread on FR from yesterday about declining IQs. How else to explain anyone donating money to one of the lower tier dems.
