And in May 2015, Jeb Bush was probably the leader, though a lot of FReepers liked Santorum and Walker. They also thought that Trump running was a publicity stunt.

I remember the early stage of the 2016 campaign. We thought it was a ridiculously large field at the time!

Then Trump entered the race and almost overnight, dominated the race from that point in. Right from the very start, Trump was drawing huge, enthusiastic crowds wherever he went.

The Democrats have nobody with that kind of star power this cycle. Their front-runner Joe Biden draws Jeb Bush type crowds. In fact, Biden is shaping up to be the Jeb Bush of the 2020 cycle.
