Well, the cities never make the money back the way the Olympic Committee promises. After the games, most of the places fall apart because not many people go, luging or bobsledding, every weekend. Lots of money down the drain for two weeks of events.
Starting to see this here with the Super Bowl. I think the 2024 game will be in New Orleans. They’re the only ones that submitted for it. Too much money going out with all that OT, etc.
Why Switzerland? Why not Canada or the USA?
Americans should not go to or be in the Olympics it will be to dangerous..
Waste of time & money. Won’t watch broadcast from Communist/ totalitarian countries, plus NBC coverage has for decades been worthless.
Lot of money with not a lot of return. I think the Olympics day has come and gone again. And now you have trannys screwing up the female sports, which I feel truly sorry for females just wanting to compete the very best they can against other females.

For me, the olympics is like the circus. It is a relic of bygone days.
But I’ve not watched an olympics event since the 80’s. And even then, I just liked to see guys run the bobsled off the tracks. It was something you watched because the culture told you it was a big deal. As you get older and more “discriminating” about what you REALLY like to do, stuff like the Olympics (and circuses) disappear from your life.
China is the only country that can afford it and has no qualms with cracking down on terrorism.
The IAAF has just started a testosterone-level standard for women's athletics, but I think they only cover track and field events.
