Jeddah: Saudi Arabias King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud called for an emergency meeting of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and leaders of Arab League countries to discuss the security of the region and measures to enhance it, according to a Saudi Press Agency (SPA) report late on Saturday.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said King Salman had invited Gulf leaders and Arab states to two emergency summits in Mecca on May 30 to discuss recent "aggressions and their consequences" in the region.
The extraordinary meeting has been called following attack on the commercial maritime ships in the territorial waters of the UAE and the Iran-backed Houthi militias attacks on two oil pumping stations in Saudi Arabia.

Further in the report:
Al Jubeir also urged Qatar, an estranged member of the GCC to stop supporting extremists and terrorists and return to the fold. Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE and Egypt severed trade and diplomatic ties with Qatar in 2017, charging Doha of siding with terror groups that have been destabilizing the region.
I did not know this about Qatar and the of the [Persian] Gulf States
I hope this means that the GCC will handle it owns security and not rely on the US...
Emergency and they’ll wait until May 30th?
When the Saudi air force attacks Bandar Shapur with the UAE air force flying cover, the US Navy will be defending Tel Aviv and the Gulf from Iranian missiles
I think you forgot the sarcasm tag ?
Qatar supports the Muslim Brotherhood, an organization that works to overthrow Governments - supposedly to make them purely Islamic, but in practice, it is just to take power for themselves.
Hamas in the Gaza Strip is a Muslim Brotherhood organization, as is CAIR in the United States.
Qatar owns and operates the al Jazeera broadcasting network. In Arabic, they give a big platform to Muslim Brotherhood clerics (like Sheik Qaradawi) to preach their version of Islam.
Yes, it’s been a huge regional geopolitical conflict for a while. It even affected airspace for commercial traffic.
Aren’t you glad we saved Qatar from Saddam Hussein?
Ramalamadingdong isn't over until 6/3. I'm surprised they aren't waiting until the feast of IEDs...
Knowing the Arabs, they will conduct this meeting and come away with one task. How can they destroy Israel?
Either that or how to get the United States to use its’ military to do the job the Saudi’s and others are too afraid to do. I hope the President does not commit our military to this task. If Iran has to be attacked for destabilizing the Middle East, then the countries in the region should do the job. If they do, I would venture to say the Israelis will assist with intelligence and other help. Except for the fact that it would cause a melt-down in the Arab world, Israel probably would commit its own forces to the fight. That may happen if the Iranians respond to a united Arab attack by attacking Israel. If that happens, all bets are off and I think Iran will come out on the short end when all is said and done.
