Cubs finish investigation of racist hand gesture on TV, ban fan from Wrigley

A Cubs fan who flashed a hand gesture associated with white supremacists has been banned for life by the Cubs in the latest incident that shines a light on Wrigley Field’s longstanding reputation for racist behavior.

After a daylong investigation Wednesday, the Cubs found the fan who used the gesture behind NBC Sports Chicago reporter Doug Glanville during Tuesday’s broadcast. Team president of business operations Crane Kenney says the fan, who was not publicly identified by the Cubs, will be banned from Wrigley Field.

During the game Tuesday, Glanville, who is black, stood beside the Cubs’ dugout, talking on-air to announcer Len Kasper about the Cubs’ offense when a fan in the background started making several gestures.

The bearded fan, who was wearing a grey Cubs sweatshirt and blue bottoms, held an upside-down “OK” sign — which has been associated with white nationalists — behind Glanville’s head before the broadcast cut to a graphic.

While the gesture has also been used as part of the “circle game,” in which someone tries to trick a friend into looking at them making a similar hand gesture, Kenney said on 670 The Score that team officials met and decided it was more likely the gesture was used in a “racist way.”

So, I read the article, and it said the Cubs never even talked to the guy making the gesture. How could they conclude anything about him if they never even talked to him?

Coincidentally the same they reinstated accused wife beater Addison Russell to the team.

Misdirection play.

And something rather similar in Greece, if I am not mistaken.

From what I understand, this whole thing about that gesture being some kind of white power symbol was a prank pulled by 4-chan. Since it is a pretty common gesture, and you can see many famous people doing it, they thought it would be funny to make the Left have seizures by starting the rumor that it meant “white supremacy” or some such thing. It is actually a little scary how easily they were able to pull this off. The mainstream Left really are programmable robots.

Because the left has co-opted the A-OK sign as something to mean white supremacy, we should return the favor. Leftist, because they cannot use their words generally default to the erect (the operative word) middle finger to make their point.
Obviously, a pro toxic masculinity hand signal.

Pretty decent commentary on this jesture and where it actually came from, and means.

Hint: It’s not racist or associated with White Supremacy.

The “Circle Game” has been around for at least 60 years, which is about the last time I played it at school. If someone looked at it, you were allowed to punch them in the shoulder, kind of like playing “slug bug” in the back seat of your parent’s car while on a trip. The first kid to see a VW could punch his fellow passenger in the shoulder. This whole incident is ridiculous.

discriminating against free speech in the stream of commerce is a violation of civil rights. Thi sman should sue!! It is fine in employment which is totally different because you can be fired at will. But when you discriminate in public accommodations or commerce you violate constitutional rights just as if you discriminated based on race.

That is the hand gesture for SUCK, as in Suck my —— — —. Common gesture in 1950s, 1960s, 1970s... etc etc. one finger up = f - - k. Make a circle with fingers like that = suck. Both together do both. Never had anything to do with skin color.

There is ONLY one race... the human race.
