I disagree with the concept. Let’s not equivocate about the fact that the folks hanging around 4th world terror enclaves know that the principals in their midst are who they are. Therefore I find no issue at all with eliminating them as well- they are providing material and incidental support to terrorists. They should know better by now.
Additionally, using a nonexplosive missile, much of the technology for guidance is left lying around for collection and assessment. Just as we do BDA (battle damage assessment) as we move along to determine performance/effectiveness of munitions, so do foreign entities who like to find our technology for obvious reasons. A high order detonation levels little to reverse engineer or counter....
I would prefer the MOAB concept. Destroy everything in the area! If these people learn that hiding behind “civilians” just gets them AND the civilians killed, the civilians will stop hiding and supporting them.
(The “civilians” are probably just a different faction of terrorists, anyway.)
